The only one I really care about is KRHD (ch. 40 ABC), which has apparently been issued a construction permit to flash-cut to 15kW digital, which should provide a much better signal than their current 70kW analog, which provides a signal that can only be described as "pathetic".

Also interesting that someone applied for RF ch. 3, which has been vacated by KBTX, which moved to 50. I don't expect 300W into ch. 3 to carry very far, or be very reliable, but maybe they don't need expect it to. The application is from "Live Sports Radio, Inc." and the antenna location is the Kyle Field pressbox -- apparently they're selling little radios for fans to hear your team's radio play-by-play at all games (home and away). I thought the FCC required TV frequencies to broadcast video -- I wonder why they're even bothering with FCC licenses, etc. rather than using one of the unlicensed bands. Not to mention that if I really wanted to hear Dave South I could use an actual radio, or internet stream, but I think I'd rather pay attention to the game in front of me, and know what happened immediately rather than two minutes later.

It's been 30 days and, as I expected, no HD for KXXV on DirecTV. I've seen this promise several times before and every time been disappointed.

Anyone have any idea why the Waco stations are bad about sending out PSIP data? I thought there was a law that required it to be sent?

I can't see PSIP data for the following channels on any of my OTA tuners:

6-1
6-2
10-1
10-2
46-2 (Always says DTV Program)

Weird...all of the Austin channels are fine and my Media Center PC guide has the data. (Yes, I know it is a different source)

I checked all Waco stations PSIP with my Sencore analyzer.
All stations have correct PSIP Tables.
All stations have Program Guide exept KCEN.
I notified the Chief Engineer at KCEN that his Guide was missing.

Weird, I know that KWTX had it at one time, so they must have changed something. KCEN, I don't remember seeing since they switched their virtual number back to channel 6.

I was using both my Vizio TV built in tuner and a Zenith (LG) digital tuner box with the same results.

Thanks, KCEN was responsive and have a guide up now. I still have on/off issues with KWTX. On my Vizio TV, the guide just says "retrieving data" and finally stops with "No program data". Not your issue, obviously....thanks for your posting on this site and keeping us in the loop.

KCEN 6.1 is searching for signal on Direct tv are we starting with the same problems from 6 months or so back with tribune

If the virtual channel mapping at Tribune is still using 9.1 KCEN won't tune in on Direvt TV OTA tuners.

Heard on texags that KXXV is now on Dish Network in HD. Can anyone confirm this? What about Directv?

No for DirecTV. KXXV keeps promising it but it hasn't happened yet.

I spoke to the person in charge of this issue at Tribune and they're going to investigate it. This is the same guy who fixed everything for us after the digital switchover last year. He said their database is showing 6.1 rather than 9.1 and that's what also shows on zap2it.com (which also uses Tribune data).

The strange thing is that 6.1 now comes in fine if you re-run your antenna setup but 6.2 does not.

I noticed last night that it is in HD now.

Anybody else get QAM channels from TWC? Just last night I realized American Idol didn't record on my HDHomeRun. Now I can only get ABC (1005), Fox (1014) and PBS (1004) but can't get NBC (1003) or CBS (1002). The same is happening on my tv, and I've rescanned the channels on both the pc and tv and can't get CBS or NBS to come on.

Just quickly I hooked up my old antenna and was able to get CBS, I couldn't get NBC but I had problems picking up that channel before anyways.

You are correct. I am also no longer recieving 1002 or 1003.
Not sure why American Idol would not have recorded though since it is on 1014. (FOX)

In Austin the CBS station (KEYE) was running a crawl yesterday telling all TWC customers using QAM to rescan. Apparently TWC did something to the way they send out channels.

I rescanned my Sharp Aquos this morning and got all of the HD locals back.
I also picked up all of the locals in SD locals at 16.1.......16.8

Hmm, I just rescanned and still only picking up KWBU, KXXV and KWKT. I don't know why I can't get KCEN and KWTX. I've been thinking about switching to Grande and this may just be the final straw. The Masters is on next weekend dangit.

23-1 is gone from my list of available channels on D*. I was receiving it loud and clear since the Olympics. Anyone else experiencing this?

Did a search and found nothing on this; is there any recent info on getting the CW in HD for Suddenlink customers (or OTA) in BCS?

KWBU going off the air next month (supposedly). Does that mean we will be stuck with KNCT, which is not in HD on D*?

I believe this is possible because I know KWTX in Waco does broadcast CBS and the CW in HD OTA (or they did at one point). I just don't know if KBTX has the necessary equipment to do this.

Any of you D* folks ever see 23.1 appear again in your list of availabe OTA channels?

I don't know but I sure hope we get a PBS station in HD and Waco has access to it. I don't have cable and have come to enjoy several programs on PBS (Antiques Roadshow, Nova, American Experience, etc) and if they aren't in HD I probably won't watch them anymore. I know, I'm a snob...

Would think it's either KNCT or the national feed. D* is using the national feed on the CW station (a Washington, DC station). That's another beef with me because all of the Big XII basketball games in the syndicated package are on CW-Waco (channel 10.2) and instead of carrying that, D* carries the national feed, so no Big XII basketball games. It's funny, because the channel description says CW Waco, but it shows that station from DC.

23.1 and 23.2 show on my Guide as available. However, I'm near Waco so I can't get them OTA.

I'm almost certain we'll be limited to KNCT. You have to get waivers to get the national PBS feed and I doubt KNCT will grant those. If KNCT didn't exist, or wasn't available on DirecTV, then we would automatically get the national feed.

KNCT shows up in HD (1080i) on D* here in B/CS, and has for at least the last year that I remember. BTW, this evening KXXV showed up in HD as well on D*, after years of waiting. Wonders never cease.

This follows the shifting of several HD channels to channels in the 500s--MGMHD, HDNM, etc. and the removal of HBOHD, ESPNHD and others from their old spots in the 70s.

Wow! Hadn't even noticed KXXV in HD until tonight. Shows how much I watch ABC outside of football season. Thanks!
