Fox is picking up the Steeler game this sunday...(No problem)..and I see WSEE is picking up Fish and Bills game instead of Browns and Tampa..

has Erie turned into a Bills and Steelers town...I can't believe even as bad as the browns have been there are more Bills fans in Erie then Browns.

Local bars will be happy with browns fans coming to watch the game..

but WTF is channel 35 doing ..what am I missing here..

According to today's Times-News the Brown's game "may" be broadcast if the Bill's game doesn't sell out. Most of what goes on with NFL broadcasts in Erie is determined by the NFL. I've asked WSEE many times, and they say their hands are tied. Oh well.

I thought on home games it was channel 35 option if they wanted to show them or not.

I know on the Road there is NO OPTION...they must show the game.

You're right about that, except that blackout rules apply if Buffalo doesn't sell out their home game by a specified time.

I see in today's Times-News WSEE has the Brown's game scheduled to air Sunday. Of course the schedule has the "subject to change" provision.

This is a great site to watch games that are blacked out here. I watched it several times last year and it works pretty good. Give it a try and see what you think:

According to WSEE's website they're planning on showing the Browns-Bucs game, which may be the only game in the NFL on sunday to be blacked out.

here is their tentative schedule for the year.

http://www.wsee.tv/sports/nfl2011/

I am surprised they are not showing the Bills - Browns game (I guess after last years 6-3 game who can blame them lol) and the only Bills home game they are currently scheduled to show is the Bills - Steelers game on Nov 28th

One thing to note is they show that they are going to show the Steelers-Browns game to end the season on Jan 2nd But I don't know how they can do that as the Bills play at the Jets on that day. So by NFL rules they will have to show the Bills game. and the only way they could show the Steelers - Browns game is if one of the games gets "flexed" to a different time.

The Bills-Dolphins game is sold out, and has been for quite a while.

also the 506.com is showing that the Browns-Bucs game will be shown in Erie.

and the steelers fans can thank the US open for getting the Steelers game on FOX.

NOTE: All games are at 1 PM Eastern due to the US Open tennis final. The no-game-against-home-team rule has been waived for CBS in week 1.

Thanks, P51-SN95, for the post. Lots of interesting facts.Didn't know about the week 1 waiver for CBS.

but does anyone know what happened to Chico that use to be on AM 1260 between 3pm and 6pm..

he hasn't been on since Labor Day...the first week I thought maybe on Vacation but now I am wondering if something happened to him or 1260 changed their format and going with ESPN Radio all day long...
Chico had a serious accident on a golf cart - broke his ankle badly. He was supposed to have surgery last week. Last I heard he didn't know when he'd be able to resume his show, but he did plan to come back.

I've been patiently awaiting for locals to appear on my DirecTV guide, but to no avail. I appear to have lost the national NBC feed now. I did a quick google search and DirecTV website now suggests local will arrive in October.

I'm guessing because they chose to show the late game on fox instead

I never trust the guide as it's never as uptodate as this site

http://the506.com/sports/?p=458

that's still the best site to check to see what games will be on around here, as it's updated a few times daily.

I was going to say it was Time Warner guide data failure, but P51-SN95 beat me to it.

wasn't just time warner, Dish network had it wrong as well. I swear they like to make programming changes here at the last possible second.

Dishnetwork and MSG fail to reach a deal and as of Midnight last night Dish has dropped MSG from it's line up. Looks like I may be calling Dish today to drop service. As my main reason for Dish was MSG and Sabres games.

DISH No Longer Carrying MSG & MSG Plus Following Expiration of Agreement at Midnight Last Night
NBA and NHL Sports Fans Urged to Switch Carriers

NEW YORK, Oct 1, 2010 (GlobeNewswire via COMTEX) -- Despite MSG Media's attempts since early this year to engage DISH Network in good faith negotiations, no agreement was reached for DISH Network to continue to carry MSG Network and MSG Plus. Therefore, as of midnight last night, DISH is no longer carrying the networks on its channel lineup, and New York area sports fans will now miss exclusive live coverage of the Knicks, Rangers, Islanders, Devils and Sabres.

"We are disappointed with DISH's decision to drop MSG Network and MSG Plus. DISH has rejected numerous fair and reasonable proposals at rates, terms and conditions consistent with our deals with other operators. Instead of negotiating for a new agreement, DISH has decided to deprive their customers of our award-winning networks and their favorite New York teams," said Dan Ronayne, executive vice president and general manager, MSG Networks. "We call on DISH to come to the negotiating table and reconsider our good faith proposals. We encourage DISH subscribers to call 1-877-616-4MSG or visit www.iwantmsg.com for more information, including a list of other providers in their area that carry MSG and MSG Plus."

MSG and MSG Plus will telecast nearly 400 live NBA and NHL games of the Knicks, Rangers, Devils, Islanders and Sabres this season. Opening Night for the Devils and Sabres is October 8th, while the Rangers and Islanders begin the 2010-11 campaign on October 9th. The new look Knicks, featuring All-Star Amar'e Stoudemire, begin the regular season on October 27th. Stoudemire's first game in a Knicks uniform is a preseason game from Milan, Italy on October 3rd.

In addition to the openings of the NHL and NBA seasons, MSG recently launched WFAN's "Boomer & Carton" show, which is telecast live during the week from 6-10am, as well as five new Giants football programs. MSG and MSG Plus are two of the most robust Regional Sports Networks in America, as well as the most highly decorated in the New York area. The networks have won 48 New York Emmy Awards over the past three years, more than any other network or station.

DirecTV customers:

I know DirecTV doesn't offer Erie locals, so do you get ABC/CBS/NBC/FOX at all like out of NY or a different city, or are you just expected to get them via your antenna??
