Here's another photo I took of WITN's new studio on Arlington Blvd. that shows the side of the building and the back corner of their lot.

Any antennas on it? If so, what kind and size, if you can determine it.

It still could be fiber, but there are more things you can use self support towers on broadcast property than STL. That is why I am interested if there are antennas on it and if so, what kind and if directional, what direction.

I'll have to check for antennas next time I drive by. You can see the tower in that picture but not the top of it.

It's the one of the back right of the building. The tower to the left is a cell tower on adjacent property that's been there for many years.

I had to share this... biggrin.gif

I was checking out one of my old class yearbooks that I dug up out of the attic, from the 7th grade, and it has a picture of Skip Waters in it teaching my group about the weather! Talk about the way back machine!smile.gifeek.gif I am getting old. And to make it worse, the thing is in black and white.

Interesting coverage map.

I ordered a winegard 8700 preamp. I'll post if it is any good when I get it hooked up.

WITN News in HD still starting this month?

Hello,

I'm considering moving to an antenna and cutting cable. Does anyone have information on whether the indoor antennas (like the Mohu Leaf) would pick up the networks here in New Bern, or am I too far away. If it matters, I live in Fairfield Harbour outside of town.

Thanks,
George

I would go with a outdoor antenna, ive noticed indoor antenna dont seem to work as good with digital.
visit www.antennaweb.org
to put in your address to see what is available and which direction stations come from.

I agree with Jamie, and it would be helpful to know how many outlets you plan to run from your antenna. You can hook up multiple tv's and radios if you want, but you will need to think about a preamp if more than a two way splitter is used. I would not try to have an indoor antenna at each tv. You will find I believe (unless you are really lucky) that you will have to keep adjusting it when you change channels, because digital bounces around, epecially wiht UHF.

Thanks to both of you for your advice; I'll look into an outdoor antenna. I was just hoping that I could get away with a good indoor one with preamp as I only have 1 TV

All you can do is try the indoor, if it doesn't work take it back and order an outdoor model. If you go outdoor, I would order from amazon or solidsignal. Store antenna choices around here are very few, and expensive.

]WITN Broadcasts Three Channels Of Programming Starting Wednesday

FROM WITN

Wednesday is a big day for WITN.

That’s when we plan to start running our on-air signals from our new building on Arlington Boulevard in Greenville.

At this time, we will be broadcasting three channels of programming: WITN, WITN 2 and WITN 3.

You should not notice a change on WITN’s primary NBC channel, except that we will be adding in more HD content when available.

If you tune to WITN 2, which is 7.2, you will find it to be a full-service MyNetwork television affiliate with various syndicated programming throughout the day and night.

WITN 3, which is 7.3, will now be a full-service Me-TV station, so all Me-TV programming will be on this channel, including Me-TV programs that have not been aired previously in this area.

WITN News and other operations will be moving to the new Greenville facility over the next several months

I saw something new on 7.1! Can anyone tell what it is?

There's no time/temp or news ticker in the Today Show lower third? ;-)

I know that's not what you're referring to, but I just turned it on and that's the first thing I noticed.

MeTV on Suddenlink Ch.139 and My Network TV on Suddenlink Ch. 138.

They must still be working on something. They are in and out of HD... - but that isn't what I was pointing out either.wink.gif

I don't recall seeing Judge Mathis in HD before. Looks like they've begun airing more syndicated HD already.
