I've read lots of great information in this thread and was hoping some of y'all could shed some light to a new member of the cut cable community. Setup:
I am running Windows Media Center 7 and only have internet service through Suddenlink. My TV tuner is a hauppauge 2250 with dual digital clear-QAM tuners. Can view the product page here if so inclined
I have a coaxial cable running from the wall into my tuner card.Problem:
I cannot get very many channels, WITN especially (big game tomorrow and all).
Not enthusiastic about an antenna but would appreciate
the biggest bang for the least bucks if you know a model or type you like.
Would you split the coaxial signal? Just connect direct to the antenna? What I do get and how it appears:
102 wydo fox
112 wcti abc
136 wepx iON
137 wnct cbc
144 wral2 this movie
148 wcti this
716 wgn hd
& shop nbcWhat I have tried:
I have scanned and re-scanned through media center for more channels.
I have visited the silicon dust website and tried adding WITN everyway I could think of
I think I'm mostly stuck understanding if getting that or more channels is even possible through coaxial cable or if an antenna is necessary.
Thank you for your thoughts and help with this,
