I think maybe 9 did this because they are about to do HD news and wanted it on both channels. Makes sense, but I have never seen a 1080i station with another hd channel. Is there new technology to make this work? 9.1 looks weaker than it did.
I think 9 had to move because of 7. They are trying to do HD at the same time.
I had heard about and seen on WTVD the two 720p HD signals, and they looked like weak HD. I had no idea that a station would try to have two HD stations with a main channel being 1080i. Maybe the latest encoders make it better/possible? without looking pixelated. Time will tell.
For the past few days, I have not been able to receive WRAY at all. Not that I much care. Televangelists are not my cup of tea.
I can't tell much difference between the 720p broadcasts on WTVD and the 1080i on WNCN and WRAL.
I do find that the WTVD signal is one of the most stable signals, not as prone to multipath interference as some of the other channels.
I think the reason that WTVD has both SD and HD channels for LiveWell may be so that it can have both types of channels to offer to cable systems.
Aren't they on different RF channels? WRAY is RF 42 and WSFX is RF 30.
I doubt they will. It isn't in the best interest of those in the southern portion of the WNCT signal putting so many channels next to each other. They should find another channel if they want off 10... IMO. I can sort of understand wanting to get away from channel 11, but going with 45 that makes new problems.
For example, when WYDO came on with 47, that caused WWAY to become weaker for me. It is weaker than WECT, even though they have more power than them.
