It’s not a signal issue. More than likely it’s a headend or node issue. I’m trying to track down if it’s something that originating at the NOC in Syracuse, Mt Hope or my local headend or even node. I don’t deal with Time Warner CS or phone support, when I have an issue I call a supervisor in Batavia directly and get in contact with him and have been doing that for 2 years now. The problem is there’s so many variables in place here, it’s pretty difficult to track things down and given I live in a small rural area with a higher elderly population, it’s pretty hard to get multiple reports from people in my area having the same problems. Thank you for verifying you had no issues with Storage Wars. I’m not sure where the feed of A&E HD originates out of, but that narrows it down to a more local (to me) issue rather than a widespread one. I don’t suppose you watched UFC on Fox Saturday?
A few weekends ago, TW did something affecting the HD feeds of Fox 29 and My 49 where the channels were offline almost the entire weekend. Thank god I also have DirecTV as I‘d majorly pissed since the Yanks were on Fox Saturday Baseball. Anyhow, ever since then I’ve been having a lot of issues with both WUTV and WNYO. They moved them both to 615 MHz where the signal and SNR were worse than the other frequencies but still within spec. Once the channels came back online, at first I was accumulating a massive amount of uncorrected blocks resulting in pixilation and audio issues, but things have since died down. I honestly do not care about WNYO, but I need Fox for football, baseball. NASCAR, UFC, and Animation Domination.
The last time I spoke with the supervisor from TW he said my node was expecting sporadic signs of CPD and they haven’t been able to track down the cause yet. I should have asked, but didn’t and the reading I’m doing on the subject has my head spinning, but I’m not sure if CPD can result in audio and video screw ups, and if it does, I would think that would set off the error counters in the diag screen. But the thing is every time I check, my signals are excellent, -2 to +2 on all freqs (with exception of 615) and an SNR of 35-37. The signals on the MTA are even better. Right now all four downstream channels are at almost a perfect 0 with an SNR of 36, and two upstream channels are at 43.75 and the other two are at 42.25. I’m not really sure of what’s going on. My service was absolutely perfect for years, Had issues for a while, been fine for months and now its tough to watch an entire show or movie again without at least some type of problem. I watched My Extreme Obsession or whatever that freakshow is called on TLC HD and it was fine. The true test will be tomorrow when I watch The Americans. FX used to give me at least 3-4 audio drops and another 3-4 instances of full screen break up for every show I watch on there.
