Not sure what was done to cause the issue in the first place. My understanding was that the hard reboot caused a more complete rebuilding of the internal tables than the standard reboot does. But that was with SARA. However, the underlying firmware in the box is same, so this reboot may impact that more.
Next question? Now that it's not flipping out on me, we started watching a recorded show, and now I can't scan. I hit the scan forward button (once or twice, doesn't matter), and it pauses for a second before returning to normal play. We had this problem when the first Navigator upgrade happened, but it went away after a day or two. Did I restore an older version by doing the power button trick? Any ideas on working around this one?
I don't think that this hard reboot reverted to the first Navigator version. Basically any reboot forces a new download of the software. Now it could be that what is on the server now is a different version (perhaps later) than the one that was on the box. My box is MDN (8300HD) so it's operation could be different than yours. When you say "scan forward" do you mean the FF or jump forward (upper FWD or lower FWD button - different remotes have this labeled differently)?
