Hi Bill,
Bob Hess is the chief engineer at KMAX, and he checks this forum every so often. He can confirm whether the telecast was in HD.
As far as digital breakup is concerned, there are a number of possibilities:
incoming to KMAX, problems with their digital STL feed or propagation anomalies between their transmitter and you. I watch lots of CBS HD on D*, and there are usually one or two breakups of their digital feed per program. No telling where it comes from. S**t happens!
