Is this a fluke? I live in a wooded area and historically had better reception when the leaves were off the trees before the digital switchover. Has channel 15 bumped up their power or am I destined to miss the Olympics next summer again? Any suggestions? TIA
I'll tell you right away that 15 hasn't bumped their power since almost 2 years ago.
I checked the tropo maps and there's no ducting tonight. I also ran a generic TVFool report for Rock Springs, which is about halfway between Reedsburg and Baraboo.: http://www.tvfool.com/?option=com_wr...7fb9cf88368c86
You may want to run a report for your specific location. Looking at the analysis, WMTV isn't that much different than any of the other stations. What model antenna do you have and is it hooked up to an amplifier? Do any of the other Madison stations come in and if so, how regularly?
In short, It's probably a fluke and you'll have to get cable or satellite or watch the Olympics online or upgrade your antenna setup. Notice the variety of options. The chief engineer for WMTV, who posts on this forum, by the way, would recommend the last one, as do I. Add an amplifier if you don't have one and maybe move your antenna to a tower or higher up on the roof.
