Hehe, my first experiment with ku-band FTA this weekend was mixed. I got G19 and a few other satellites, but could not get others. I need a new location for a pole I think, but the weather only gave me a day. I had no idea these signals are very hard to pull in. I installed several DN satellites and could hit signal easily.

I wan to thank everyone's input on the subchannel discussion. Plus now I see that This TV has been added to the Altoona market. Just watched a bit of the channel tonight on 23.3. For WTAJ not adding a subchannel doesn't shock me at all since they were the ones that never would grant me a waiver to pick up another CBS station from another city since locals were not added at that time. That was back in 2002. Plus I can't picture WTAJ wanting viewers to watch other stations that would take away from their shows.

I would personally preferred MeTV or AntennaTV, but that's really just being a chooser when I was previously a begger. I'm glad to see another place to see old shows/movies.

Nexstar as a whole has almost no subchannels. Any they have were inherited from previous owners.

I am going to send an email to the station thanking them for a great free movie channel. First the new owners make the Altoona FOX signal much better and now this. Very impressed. MeTV is owned by the same company as ThisTV so maybe they will slap it on the johnstown vhf transmitter....nice thought


jerbear4, our best shot is for nexstar to sell the station to a more subchannel friendly company. The station has been sold several times.

MeTV is also on AMC 3.

DirecTV and DISH use circularly polarized signals, which make installing their dishes easy. The majority of satellites that service North America use vertically or horizontally polarized signals that make aligning a dish more difficult.

Thanks for the info. I will get it working when the weather warms up I hope. I cant get WPSU where I live, but WHVL comes in strong and according to tvfool is much a weaker signal.

Does anyone watch A1 at all? I am going to email WHVL and request they add antenna tv or metv instead. Good movies on THIS.

I personally enjoy AmericaOne, it has great sports coverage such as English Premere League Soccer, and Rugby. They also show old movies and 50s TV shows in the morning, so I personally love it.

I personally think that if it fits their views for family-friendly content, that WKBS should add MeTV or AntennaTV to their signal, especially since their main channel is only SD.

Does WKBS air The Bible Discovery channel on 47-2?

A rescan on my DTV box only shows their main channel 47.1(46.3).

The RabbitEars website lists it as a subchannel on WPCB, Greensburg, PA and KZAQ, Albuquerque, NM

I'm surprised considering WPCB airs it on 40-2, in addition now to an HD feed on 40-1 with the SD version having moved down to 40-3.

Only WPCB has HD or subchannels. All of Cornerstone's other stations are a single SD feed, so far as I know. (My knowledge extends to WKBS and W07DP-D.) I presume they're all being fed by the feed coming off Galaxy 19.

Does anyone know if WATM's removal of the ABC23News simulcast of WJAC-TV News is permanent?

It wouldn't be the worst thing to me, though if I couldn't get WJAC I might feel differently. The quality of the simulcast was always horrid(seems like an appropriate word), so it seems nice to have the choice of the newly 16x9-restored syndicated Senifeld episodes(even though they're letterboxed).

Does Atlantic Broadband ever offer 3D programming? What programs and on what channels? Do they plan to offer 3D in the future?

I'm buing a new TV, and am wondering whether to get a 3D one. I'm thinking I'll get a regular 2D one, due to the higher TV price, lack of 3D content and not wanting to wear special glasses. But I'm wondering if there is much content out there other than 3D bluray movies.

It's nice that WATM finally added the program info for ThisTV on 23.3(even though they inadvertently offset the channel clock by 12 hours). I'm loving being able to tape Sea Hunt and The Patty Duke Show and enjoy them on a slow evening.
I really don't understand why WATM doesn't follow in the footsteaps of other channels(like WJAC or more so like WCIU) and promote their subchannels. You'd think that they would want to get themselves more viewers.

On an unrelated side note, is anyone going to the Trenton Computer Festival this weekend?

I took notice to the time error and now not receiving any program info through my zinwell converter box on 23.1, .2, or .3. If its not working in a few days I will send them an email. I really am enjoying THIS alot. I look for atlantic broadband to carry this like they do rtv. So I wonder if we will get anymore subchannels in the future. Sure would like MEtv and for the CW's Johnstown signal to get fired up this year. I could get the old UPN analog clear, cant wait to try the digital.

Pittsburgh: Effective June 13 of this year, WPXI-TV (11) will be replacing Retro TV ("RTV") on Channel 11.2 with ME-TV. Me-TV also airs old reruns, but likely a different selection than RTV. "ME" apparently stands for Memorable Entertainment and first aired on Chicago station WFBT (now WWME-CA 23) from Noon - 3:00 p.m. It would later expand to WDJT-TV in Milwaukee and in late 2010 went national with Metro-Goldwin-Mayer handling distribution. It is in direct competition with RTV. Me-TV is owned by Weigel Broadcasting who, together with MGM, also operates ThisTV which is carried on WTAE-TV's (4) secondary channel 4.2.

WPXI is owned by Cox just like WJAC. I looked at Me's schedule and its really good.

YES! Rabbit ears has METV replacing RTV soon. This is excellent because RTV is available on the FTA satellite. METV has a much better line up....

WJAC has been announced as an affiliate. I'm guessing it's replacing RTV based on WPXI's announcement of MeTV replacing RTV.

Then WTOV-9 Steubenville will also be carrying METV.

WTOV is not listed as an affiliate on MeTV's site, so far as I can tell.

I wouldn't be surprised if they drop it since it is also a Cox-owned station.

I personally wish that if they felt that they needed to add MeTV that they would have done it on another sub-channel or not at all. RTV has its benifits as a channel, and I will miss Jack Benny. If they were replacing it with AntennaTV I would probably be more receptive to it as I could then watch The Monkees.

Also, It would be nice if WPCW would see it as a profitable venture to bring Altoona a translator station, and that they would add one of these subchannels since most of the CW network feed is only 720p anyway.

CW is fed in 1080i.

I disagree about RTV. They never changed up their national feed line-up. MeTV has a much stronger schedule than both RTV and Antenna TV. Cox should put Universal Sports on the 6.3 slot. RTV would be good for a network like WHVL, or on the WWCP VHF transmitter. Lucky for us RTV is available free to air with Tuff TV and hopefully the new RTV2, Car-TV, and PBJ.

I looked at the MeTV lineup again and I realized that you're right, their lineup is much better than RTVs. It's still a shame though, I'll miss Jack Benny and That's Incredible. Universal sports would be nice.
