I've been having problems with my moxi box loosing track of channels. Here in 29630 (zip for Central, SC) land, channel 4 is the nbc affiliate. And for some reason, it's just not accessible anymore. It was there, but now when I touch 4 and wait, it just displays the channel it's on at the bottom and doesn't change. If I go to channel 5 and down channel, it skips over it like I had removed it from the channel settings. But I didn't. It's in the channel settings.
I'm trying to coordinate a visit from the local service, but I suspect they will just want to swap out my box, and there go my recordings...
I've reset the box and it came back once. Then, when it disappeared the next day, I did it again. This time, it's not back. There are a few other channels that it's do it to as well, but 4 is the main one for news, etc. and the only one I'm concerned about at the moment.
MoxiGuy Questions: I also occasionally get the blue screen (if you don't subscribe to this, tuft toutty. If you do, call and bitch.) I'm seriously concerned I'm not getting enough bandwidth.
The setup menu showed some figures for bandwidth. I think it was set to max 384 kb. I know I'm not getting the full 3 meg service I'm supposed to for my cable modem when I test it. Would this limit be what's causing me problems with my moxi as well??
My installers didn't up update the old rg-6 cable coming from the distribution in my basement. When they installed my first digital box, they told me the old rg-6 cable wasn't up to the frequency of the digital signal. The stuff in my bedroom where the moxie is installed is very old and has splices in it.
