I am still a little confused. From an HDTV tuner to the M1 port, what should I be sending? Tuner output is DVI.

480i
480p
720p
1080i

The one that looks best on your system. ;)

If it's a Moto 64xx, probably the 1080i with 480 Override=OFF.

Has anyone seen noticeable improvement by upgrading from Infocus screen to Da-lite HCWM. I am looking at 77" screen. Thanks.

Why does this rule not apply to the Xbox 360 in the gaming section? If you look at page after page after page, it's 90% questions about the 360. Why is it that all of those are not all lumped into one big 360 thread? I'm not complaining at all, I'm just curious.
Simple, AVS does not sell the Xbox, that's why.
BTW, MSRP is allowed, dealer pricing is not.

Look, I'm not going to discuss this here anymore. As I've already said... PM me or Alan.
I'm deleting this garbage from here on out... This is not the place.

Yes. You might want to consider going a bit larger if you have room and some light control. 77 will be pretty bright.

I would check out the DIY screen forum here. I made a screen for under $30 with black-out cloth and some wood and a quart of paint from HD. You can get very good results for not much money.

Kysersose I'm going to recommend an increase in pay for you for having to deal with the last two days. :p I'm thinking at least double your current rate.

By the way, what are rules regarding beer? Can we recommend beer if we don't post prices? Can we link to beer sites if the beer sites don't show prices? Beer is relevant because people considering 4805s many times drink beer while viewing 4805s while playing X box. (please play responsibly. please obey the drinking and playing laws of your state.) If we post links to sites that post prices for beer that most people would never ever drink anyway, like really CRAP beer that the average AVS forum reader would never ever drink anyway, is that OK? Many new AVS members would like to buy better beer but can't, so it would sort of be a service to them, but a disservice to the rest of us with good taste so I'm not clear on this yet.

You deleted one of my post one time and I think it was because I had to much beer before I posted it. I'm thinking this one may fall in that same category.

Remember however, deleting this could negate your raise.

Carry on...

This is the one he should have deleted. :D

The 4805 in hindsight needed a mini-forum.

I'm up and running now too. Can any more refurb owners comment on if they have a new bulb?

I'm throwing around an 80 in image onto a grey foam diy I was using with another PJ. It looks amazing compared to the hitachi lcd I was using. Mine is not quite the light cannon everyone says it is. I know I'm using gray, ( if I had to guess I would say .8-.9 gain, It's like a misty evening colored egg shell) but only 80 in. I thought it would be brighter.

how do you tell if it has a new bulb? I have used it for around 20-30 minutes then turned off. Can I still tell if the bulb was new since I used it fir a short time?

Big light fusion screen coming soon. I post some pics if I can figure out how.

First off thanks to everyone on this forum ! I just recieved my 4805 today (Refurb ) WOW ! Great Picture , so far just on some blackout cloth tacked to the wall , making the screen this weekend .Using component 480i from sony DVD on oh about an 80 inch screen. Will calibrate tomorrow. Had it on for about 4hrs so far no problems. Man it sure beats my old 35 in. RCA in letterbox.
Once again thanks to everyone for all the hard work & effort into this site & forum. Found all the answers before I even had the Questions.
One happy guy today. Feel like a kid at Christmas !

Due to space limitation I can only accommodate a manual pull-down 77" only. I actually have used the 4805 for 8 months now and even though I bought the ND2 filter I have only used it for a week. Picture is dim for me with the HOYA filter. I now use the Infocus 76" screen that I got with my projector. I want to know if upgrading to Da-lite HCWM is a noticeable improvement over the current screen I have.

To all the new 4805 owners welcome, so you think you made a good decision. I was in your shoes a little over a year ago, now I can't buy a new pair. All my extra cash goes for DVD's, upgraded equipment and many idle hours on this forum. Its not a bad life living in a theater and going to DVD anonymous. I was on the wagon for a good two weeks then Star Wars, War of the Worlds came out and I had to buy, and all that guilt came back. I thought just two wouldn't hurt, but I'm back to my old ways. Oh Well. Maybe they will come out with a patch for this addiction, and I can lead a normal life once again.

Good luck to you all.

I found the Infocus screen to be quite good. I switched to Dalite 106" HCMW & I don't think the screen quality appears better, although with such a huge difference in size, it's hard to compare.
