Now I haven't been able to get it to show up for a couple of months. Does anyone know if this station is down? Has it changed locations on the digital channel map? I've tried looking at CW30's web site for info as well as ABC4 Utah's web site (as they are both owned by the same corp.).
Last year CW30 was having problems with their PSIP.
They were shutting it off, or forgetting to turn it on, or something, until right before primetime.
Many times my HD TiVo couldn't record Smallville because the channel wasn't there, but would record Supernatural just fine, leading me to believe they fixed whatever was wrong between 7 and 8pm.
If you can't find a signal on 30.1, try channel 48, the actual UHF channel they are broadcasting on.
If you get picture and sound, then that means their PSIP problems have returned.
I went as far as double recording Smallville and Supernatural last year on both 30.1 and 48 for this very reason.
I've also seen some ATSC tuners remove channels if they tune to them and they aren't there, and you have to rescan all channels to get them back.
So, if you tune to 30.1 and it isn't there for some reason, you can't get them until you scan.
There also could be some work being done getting ready for the 2-09 switchover, and they could be going lower power on their digital transmitter, or other maintenence.
Long story short, CW30 is very hit and miss.
This year I've seen No signal at all at the start of prime,
no HD at the start of prime just upconverted SD,
no audio at the start of prime,
once they even had part of Smalliville airing in the middle of Supernatural (or vice versa),
I've also seen Closed Captioning from Smallville airing in Supernatural (again, or vice versa).
