Re: Wireless Repeater From Sirius

I've got a question that probably everyone is asking. Okay so I got Sirius, for home use. I really like it, except that the dinky antenna is a real pain and my husband is throwing a clot because we just got all new vinyl siding on the house and he doesn't want to drill anymore holes in the house. So I've heard about this wireless repeater, called the folks at Sirius and asked when it's coming out, but the response I have gotten is cryptic at best. Am I wasting my time waiting for this wireless repeater to be released? Does anybody have any further news about it?

Thanks All.

The lastest information I have is it will be released in September.

Does anyone know if the Sirius wireless indoor repeater is available yet? I too just recently switched from XM to Sirius... and I am just about to give up on indoor reception.

Thank you...

I am so interested in this because i'm stuck in a cubby hole at work and desperatly want sirius. With a repeater I could easily get away with installation

I just bought the Kenwood Home Reciever and setup the antenna to point out the window and can't get a signal. I am going to try my other window and see if it works, if it does I'll get an extender cable, if not its going back. :(

What, you didn't believe us when we said indoor installation generally doesn't work?

You still need an outdoor antenna!

If you have a computer in the cubby, check out the Sirius web streaming.

Nope :D I figured I am on the third floor with a big window... Oh well.. I'll try putting the antenna outside.

It's best for the antenna to have a sightline to the whole sky, but not always possible, even outside. The sats move, though, so some parts of the day may be better than others.

I let the antenna hang out the window and it picked up a signal and I was able to call and get it setup. I listened for about an hour, this was about 6pm. I went and played pool all night, its not 12:30 and I turn it on and it won't pickup a signal. The antenna hasn't moved.  I opened the window and moved it around a little and its working for the time being.

HERE.

READ MY ADVENTURES ON THE SIRIUS INDOOR ANTENNA. THEY REALLY NEED TO IMPROVE THIS, BADLY.

XM WINS HANDS DOWN ON INDOOR RECEPTION.

Update. Well after months of sketchy reception with the lousy antenna that comes with the Kenwood Receiver and waiting for a repeater that never was manufactured, I finally gave in. I bought the Terk Sir6 outdoor antenna. Mounted the thing outside. Hooked it up to the receiver. Bam, I have three bars strength of reception! My Sirius indoor now works like a dream!
