Hi All, I'm definitely a noob and have found some good info over the net on speakers and placement and whatnot.
I just purchased some stuff from Cambridge SoundWorks here is MA, and I found this website too search it before buying. I listened to all of their speakers and definitely I'm happy with my purchase. I'm just looking to see what others think and how I did on the prices.
I ended up buying:
Center Channel - Classic Series CenterStage
http://www.cambridgesoundworks.com/s...age&type=store
Mains - M80 bookshelf (bi-wired)
http://www.cambridgesoundworks.com/s...zzz&type=store
Sub - Basscube 15e (should be just a 15" version of the Basscube 12s)
No Link, has 150W RMS amp. downward firing
Rears - make: Boston model: forgotten (i got these about 3 years ago)
My amp/receiver is an older (5 yrs+) Denon AVR-2500? it has DD 5.1 @ something like 70Wx5. Overall, a solid performer.
So, I got the center channel for $125 (from $300 - currently $150 on clearance), the sub for $255 (from $600 - on sale for $300), and the mains for $267 (orig. $400, but website had them for $320 + I found a 15% off coupon). So, I got the whole thing for $647.
How did I do? I feel like I got a great deal and a good sounding system. How does this stack up to others' experiences.
