I know mo' channels equals mo' bettah, but those are some obscure offerings right there.

To paraphrase MST3K, "Wow, the suckiness really comes through with great clarity!"

I'd give my left nut for FSC and gol in our area.

there is not much left to add other than the obscure channels

Philly already has 150 HD channels.

No HDNET for me either.

Yeah, that was kind of my point. But I realize even obscure channels have their adherents. If there was an HD channel that showed nothing but sailing, I'd watch it.

As it stands, BBC America HD and HDNet are probably the two most desired offerings still missing from our lineup.

The big advantage FIOS has over Comcast is all the HD channels for the premium networks. That is a lot of quality HD programming for Comcast to add.
Comcast in my area carries multiple channels of the premiums in HD.

You need FiOS then

I'd give my right nut for Fios.

Can someone in Philly chime in on if those new channels have been added yet or not?

Anyone wanna help tell Comcast they are the worst company in America? Vote right now:

Yes we got the 10 new channels added on Tuesday. However, they removed 11 of the west coast premiums.

In Savannah, we were supposed to get a bunch of new HD channels today but didn't happen, but no surprise there.

Is Comcast carrying The Cooking Channel HD (I assume there is an HD version) in any market?

We have it in Philadelphia on channel 1281.
In Savannah its actually on OnDemand HD, but no real HD channel
post #11301 of 11976
Noticed that Baltimore has it On Demand also, along with BBC America. World of More channels were added a year ago. We still have Limited Basic in analog.

Not really, I'm fairly happy with my service since switching from Dish/AT&T.

Besides, as bad as Comcast can be at times, they can't hold a candle to BP!

On the other hand, the AMPMs usually have the cheapest gas in town.

kind of amazing that Philly has gone from the red headed step child to favorite son in the past year or so in terms of HD channels.

Fios started expanding its footprint in the City of Philadelphia this year and suddenly we are the favorite son. I love the fact that competition in their home market has expedited the addition of all these channels. I just hope they can start rolling out all of these new channels in all the other markets soon.
well, since Fios is no longer expanding, I'm not holding out any hope. Tons of markets have been through the migration for months, and no new channels. Oh wait, sorry..we got another 3d channel and some outdoor network. Part of me is glad to see that comcast finally has a deal for channels like gol and fsc hd, but I'm sure they will take their sweet old time getting them rolled out on any sort of scale. Unfortunate too, since the Euro seasons and cups will be winding down in the next 6 weeks or so. Also, I'm reallllllly looking forward to watching the US Gold Cup matches in the youtube quality that is fsc sd.

Hopefully Comcast will learn a lesson from this feedback and deserve not to be nominated for the "award". If not as they say wait till next year!
