so, it's been over a month since the announced the agreement with Fox Soccer HD. Have any new markets been added?

Yeah, didn't think so.

There's an old Bing Crosby melody: "Dream along with me..."

Guess there was bigger demand around here for Ovation HD.
What IS Ovation anyway?

Somewhere in Colorado got it.

Another channel you pay for, but don't watch...

Aren't you excited?

Talk about narrowcasting. Here's a link to their schedule:

Yup, another channel with obscure programming I pay for and will never watch. Why can't we have a la carte programming?

At least I get Versus HD and can watch Le Tour d'France. That beautiful French country side ... Ahhhh. Takes your mind off the circus in DC and elsewhere that's reported as "news"

Ah! I'm sure our cable provider knows what our wants and desires are better than we do .

Although Fox soccer is still my #1 want in time for the EPL startup Aug 13th I wouldn't mind seeing Ovation added to the Michigan Comcast system - maybe a lot of repeats but most channels are that way, but plenty of interesting music documentaries and performances (including Jools - late night).

Well, I'm glad someone appreciates it.

Still, I go back to my earlier question: Why can't we have a la carte programming? I guess the answer can be found in Carl Jones response:

"Ah! I'm sure our cable provider knows what our wants and desires are better than we do"

I think I got an upgrade to my DVR and now I don't know how to view my scheduled recordings. I have S/W Ver: 78.53 - A28p0-4.1005.r-8. Any idea how to view the scheduled recordings? Also, how would I find out if I have xfinity or not?
To my knowledge, Xfinity is the rebranded Comcast. If you got a new DVR I think you need to reprogram it and anything that was on your old one wouldn't transfer to your new one.

I didn't get a new one, just new software.

It's now in "Manage My DVR" I believe. Which you can also do online if you activate it on their web site.

I must be blind. How do you get to "Manage My DVR"? Whenever I press the "My DVR" button it brings me to the recordings only.

Not in front of the TV right now, but you need to hit the menu key, then select DVR. I think that brings you to a screen where you can select "manage DVR"?

The only place that you can get to the "Manage my Dvr" is when you are on the main Dvr, not from one of the other boxes ie. non-dvr box.

I have the Whole House system and that's how it works for me. The only box that can change anything for your recordings is from the main Dvr, the other boxes only view what's on the main dvr.

It sounds like the software did not load right. Unplug the dvr for about a minute then plug back in and wait a few minutes. You should see another menu when you press MyDVR. If you want to see scheduled recordings select that option. Manage MyDVR will help to see your history, series priority, and clean up the dvr.

I tried that, it didn't help. When I press "My DVR", it brings me to the menu that shows what is recorded on my DVR. If I press Menu twice, I get the following options: "By Time", "Premium", "By Channel", "Search", "PPV", "Digital Music", "My Favorites", "Messages", "Movies", "Weather", "Sports", "Setup", "Kids", "Exit". No where is there an option to view the schedule of recordings.

I guess I'll be calling Comcast tonight.

I am having the exact same problem. I can't see what recordings are upcoming anymore! The "My DVR" button automatically brings me to my recordings.

I recently had a power outage, and I'm thinking this may be the new firmware that's loaded onto STB's. Please God, I hope not.

EDIT - Hey, I just noticed we're from the same metro. This better not be a new GR Comcast thing... I hope you report back when you call Comcast, otherwise I will do so after the weekend.

I called them last night. They had to send a signal to the box and then reset it. I then had to unplug it for 15 minutes and then it was fixed. All is good now.

Good to hear you got this fixed... I guess I have to call them too and get my box back to normal.

My bill says the Comcast Central channels will be removed from the 900s on 8/30. (Hopefully to make room for HD channels.)

Do anyone know how to block specific shows on On Demand? I know how to do it on regular tv but not On Demand.

I could not find a way to block a title on demand. The only options seems to be rating. Or you can block On demand completely with a service lock under the parental control menu.

Customer talks to Comcast exec about the lack of Fox Soccer HD. Exec gives the usual excuses which the customer rebuttals against. Exec then simply replies back "I know I know" then "forwards to marketing" which is pretty much code for "your issue is being tossed in the trash."
