Where in Hampton are you? Do live next to a forest thats's between you and Driver? Even though I think it could be stronger (reorienting antenna should help), I recieve all the full powers at driver without problem. I'm 17 miles due east of Driver. The only stations I have problems with are WGBS-LD, sometimes WKTD-CD (WAVY simulcast) & WNLO-CD (WVBT simulcast), at times W14DC and WSKY (30 mi due south) during storms. Even WAVY has a LP translator on RF 10 in Hampton that you should be able to recieve.

I have a row of big trees just where the line of sight must be for the main towers. I usually get breakups on 10 and 14 (somewhat more). When the wind is blowing or it is raining all channels are affected. Over the years I have tried a few things but under the best conditions get some breakups. PQ is somewhat better than Cox, but Cox is convenient, reliable and has ESPN and NFL.

I'm about to turn in the second Moto DVR I've had due to space issues. I only have 4 HD shows of either 30 minutes or an hour on there and it's 79% full. Is this a common problem? The thing didn't record any shows for tonight since it was "full."
Sounds like a bad hard drive to me. My moto DVR is ~five years old. It will record about 20 hours of HD shows.

Wow!!!... I have had as many as 2 complete hockey games, 2-3 one hour shows and a couple of movies all at the same time and mine has never reached the 90% mark.

Go with a whole home. You will be so much happier.

I didn't really need whole home since the other TV is SD and not really used that much. Got the replacement box and everything is working fine now. There's like 9 or 10 shows on there and it's only around 50%, so I'm happy.

Cox Solutions Stores will be offering informative workshops this Saturday, May 19th, for customers who want to learn how to take full advantage of the latest Cox product features and technology. The sessions are designed to help customers get the most from their digital experience.

Learning Lounges, located within Cox Solutions Stores, will be staffed by an Educator offering on-going customer workshops on the latest product features and services, as well as general information about using technology.
Cox believes there are many items available to their customers that they may not be fully aware of. "These classes give us a chance to take our time and give each customer a hands-on approach to their service," says Jonathan Freeland, Vice-President of Marketing & Sales. "Our customers have asked us to show them what features are included in their Cox services and how they can maximize them."

For the first 25 Hampton Roads area customers to sign up for classes, Cox is happy to provide a family four pack of Center Zone VIP tickets to the Patriotic Festival Blue Angels Oceanfront Airshow or Patriotic Festival concerts in Virginia Beach.

Agreed. It's very responsive now. I hope it doesn't slow down over time.

Are you saying an eSATA External HDD will now play nicely from a client box?

If so what is the External HDD Limit, 1TB, 2TB?
How did the classes / workshops go?
occasio i thought you may have gone to the cable show. the only changes i see is the speed of the guide.what else changed
post #7337 of 8011
Well, one change is the Digital Audio Output reverts to PCM every time the box is powered off. HIGHLY annoying. I have to select Dolby Digital (AC3) every time I power on the DVR.

One missing change... There STILL is no video passthough to avoid having the cable box convert everything to 720p or 1080i. I'd rather let my TV handle the conversion.

Not saying that at all. Just heard from some that their eSATA was working. We still haven't endorsed it.

did they change the Motorola DCT6416 Software?>

Box was in "no record" / Live only mode all day until I forced a Reboot.
There was no scheduled update to my knowledge.

omaha's now say Rovi on the startup splash screen, but same software version when it sad pioneer
post #7344 of 8011
mine has said Rovi 3.6 for a while now,

i think we had a signal issue, as almost EVERY channel was hit with the motorola "Offl Air" overlay this afternoon, from that point on it was not allowing any recording or time shifting until i forced the reboot
post #7345 of 8011
i think i found the source of my channel tuning issues.

As noted before FAM HD, Sometimes ComcastHD, and HBO2 HD all had issues with droppputs or 100% no signal (off Air overlay).

I was moving some stuff around and i barely tapped the cable and box the DVR and Modem had something to say about it.

I think when they re-did the wall/siding on the house a few years back they may have damaged the line or even put a nail through it.

as soon as I get time I'll replace the line.

Still debating with my brother on whether or not to do the Ceton Tuner and take back the DVRs, or wait for Cetons 6 Tuner box and just use Xbox 360s as extenders.

Bored with your 100 Mbps connection? Verizon plans to offer customers up to 300 Mbps down via its FiOS fiber service next month. That’s double Verizon’s current top speed of 150 Mbps down... (read more - GigaOM.com)

But Verizon is not available to me. How would it cost? Even if Verizon was available I would have to weigh a number of factors including the fact that Cox has been offered the best service I've ever had.

I've never had such a bad experience with a provider that I would never consider them in the future. To me, service is important but definitely not at the top of the list...

I have their 25/25 plan which gets bumped up to 50/25 soon for $75/mo. Cox's 50/5 service is $110/mo. Both of these are less costly with bundles...

how much is it after your xx Month agreement ends... thats the kicker...

and the #1 reason i havent switched from Cox, as the whole TV, Phone, Internet for XXX / month was only that low for about 12/24 months after that it was just about at where i am with cox if not higher depending on channel packaging.
