Probably but I'm not willing to put in the effort. I'll just avoid the app until it changes. We use Netflix on the iPad more than anything.

My understanding is this is an interesting area right now for negotiation between the networks & MSO's. We would love it to work anywhere, but we are not there yet.

You can take this idea and get yourself a raise tongue.gif:

Cox Internet TV...

Goto a Pre-made xxxx.cox.net page,
Login w/ Cox Account details ,
Then taken to a page with a 720p/1080p Flash/Silverlight/H.264 stream from cox, and a mini guide,
Miniguide blocks channels that you do not subscribe to based on account details you logged in with.
Click on the channel you wanna watch, and it will switch to that stream.

Have other features buttons on the bottom row (ie "Record to My DVR" etc etc")

I really want the WatchESPN app. I'm sure ESPN wants a boatload of money but does anyone know if it's being considered by Cox? I'd pay $5/month just for this one app.

I second that.

I know the conventions just ended, but it would have been nice to have C-SPAN HD for them. Are any new HD channels in the pipeline before the year's end?

as much as we pay for Cable and ESPN, that app should be free.

I want to clarify. I want the ESPN app as well. But I'm not willing to pay for it. I agree, as much as we pay, I know I pay a lot, it should be free.

Me 4. Are you all saying it should be free from Cox or free from ESPN to Cox. We've been working on that for well over a year now I think. I actually have it personally as a tester.

This is actually on the road map. This is the plan for Cox.com/tv

I'd be happy to help you test it, Occasio. Especially now that football season is here.wink.gif

I was unaware of that, however; if cox wants to pay me to come up with new ideas... lol...

what about an IPad RemoteControl app?, people seem to use their IPAds to control their houses now with apps (Security, Thermostat, etc).

I think ESPN should foot the bill.

It doesn't show NFL games on WatchESPN though.

DVR had been working fine till today. Went to check the day's recordings and only 3 shows (3 hours total HD) survived. DVR is marked as 100% full. This is getting really irritating and this is my fourth unit with the problem. Has anyone else experienced this?

Are you talking about the WatchESPN app on iOS? It shows the games on iPad. I did it last night using my in-laws FiOS login information. It won't work on my Samsung phone or iPod but the iPad worked.

I don't see how they could triple it. Cox has a habit of throttling down the maximum HDD capacity to 160MB with their firmware. A firmware update could release this to the size of the HDD in the DVR. Since the DCX3400 comes with a maximum HDD size of 320GB, which is double the minimum size of 160MB, I can see how Cox could double the accessible HDD.

Cox hasn't gone to all MPEG4 in your market, have they?

That's okay, I'm primarily interested in college football, especially the Big Ten. I wonder if the Big Ten Network will ever show up on Cox.

Hmm...280 SD hours or 80 HD hours sounds like full use of a 500GB HDD, or a smaller HDD with MPEG4 in use. Didn't think that the DCX3400 was available with a 500GB HDD. Are you able to access your DVR's diagnostic pages?

One last question: Were you recently upgraded to the "TRIO" guide?

I just checked my 3400 and it has the 500Gb drive. It appears to be using all of it if the DVR Content number is correct in diagnostics.

No idea how to access the diagnostic pages....The only thing I did recently was swap out my old DVR with this DCX3400.

Sorry I am so busy w/ the Cox Charities concert right now (tickets available for $20 discount w/ code COX). We did open up the entire hard drive on Dcx boxes. Future upgrade on WHDVR will be additional tuners. A lot in the pipe.

Does that mean I can trade in my DCH3416's for these boxes and finally be rid of 160GB's worth of storage?
