Media Center/Plasma Experience

I recently bought a new Dell Media Center PC and hooked it up to my 50" Fujitsu plasma in the next room through a long DVI cable. I then took the audio out on the computer and hooked it up to my Russound whole-house stereo system located in the basement. I have been absolutely amazed at how fantastic the PC image is on the plasma. I get sound through the Russound stereo which has a keypad in the family room where the Fujitsu is located. I have a bluetooth keyboard and mouse which works from where the Fujitsu is. Unfortunately, my installer is still working on an IR repeater so I can use the Media Center remote. SHould be working next week.

I use the Media Center as a huge Tivo since I bought it with 2 160 GB hard drives. The ease of use of the recording function is just great and the picture quality on the Fujitsu is not bad.

For a few hundred dollars more than a regular PC would cost, I get a video and audio server (I uploaded all my CD's onto the PC and made serveral gigantic playlists) as well as a giant screen for my kids to play their PC games. At last technology that works!

I recommend it to all....

Anyone considering a Media Center pc should check out HP's latest offerings, some real nice machines at reasonable prices.
