Scott --
Forgive me for mentioning the obvious, but have you considered removing the antenna from the rafters and placing it in the original position?

I can think of no reason why you would receive WSVN and not WPLG. What signal meter readings do you get?

You might also try a channel re-scan.

Thanks for the response, Bill. I should have mentioned trying that in my previous post. I did, in fact place the antenna in the original location, with no luck, which is why i was so confused. That's why I believed WPLG either reduced power, or shut down completly. I receive channel 10 analog clear, but nothin on 9, LOL. Signal strength for 8-1 is about 73, and 22-3 is 64.

Wow. While writing this, i did a rescan... i now get 9-1 with a strength of 83. LOL, how simple!! i figured just tuning to the station would work... DUH!
I really appreciate the time you and everybody else has spent answering.

It's 10:45 and WPLG has completely forgotten to throw the switch for NYPD Blue.

Has anyone else, especially in southern Miami-Dade, experienced a major decline in the WFOR signal?

Mine was at a very satisfactory 60s to 70s until Tuesday, when it inexplicably dropped to the unwatchable 30s, where it remains. The other DT channels are still at 100.

The antenna does not appear to have moved -- there has been no wind -- but I will check it if no one else reports a similar decline.

FWIW, the Harris DTV transmitter for WPEC-DT, which should be on the air sometime in the first quarter of 2002, is scheduled to be delivered to our west Lantana transmitter site this afternoon. This is the first in a very long list of gear that will need to be installed and tested over the coming months to get WPEC-DT on the air. You can see what it looks like here: www.broadcast.harris.com/transmission/tv/platinumcd.html .

george,

My CBS readings are down. From 64-70 to only 58! Yes, i can s(p)mell low power. Retuning your antenna should help. Got it back up to 64 but in different position!
Yes, my CBS signal is down to half what I had.
I loose 4-1 almost every night, and have to unplug my HD5 and reset it ???
Don't know why yet.
Signal goes to 40-45 at night, but 55-65 in the day ??????
You would think it would be the other way around???

I think the DirecTV list may have something to do with the loosing of the 4-1.
Even at 45, and after a reset, I get CBS.

But, I don't loose HBO in the rain, (with my dish), so there is a silver lining !

Hi, for last 3 days i can only receive wpbt and sometime WFOR on the panasonic51 but even less on the dish6000, but i lost WSVN and WPLG totally, can any one tell me what would cause that problem no signal on WSVN and WPLG. i used to get about 80s for those channel and WFOR in th 60s. i can get the WPBT in between 85-90. my location is in the corner of SW18 street and Lion rd in boca raton. thanks for your help.

I used to get 65 with my Terk attic antenna, now only around 50.
Then I used to get 93 with my amplified indoor ant., so, I reconnected it and the best is 27.
This is bad data, because I can not establish the original results. Since the signal changed and I changed antenna's I don't have a baseline for my data.

The good news is that I now have a new diplexor, which shows minimal lose through it. Which it should, because it is not a spitter, but a low / high pass filter.

The weather does not help either. I wonder if this is part of the problem.

Hi everybody,
Are we all still experiencing audio problems when tuning
in to channel 2.1 or is it just me?.
I usually have to turn the RCA box on and off two or three
times before finally getting the audio to come on.
The video comes up right away all the time.
Thanks for your replies

Rapid stuttering and/or complete loss of the audio on WPBT is still a problem for me (I'm using an RCA DTC100). Sometimes going to the SAP icon in the INFO menu and clicking twice brings the audio back, but not always. Switching channels back and forth also works sometimes; when that doesn't work I dial in 18.2 or 18.1 on the remote and that does the trick.
hardrock,
Would it be too much trouble to put the 2 station locations on a map ?
I am looking for bearing lines for antenna pointing.
Since the bottom 2 are @ WFOR, which is where I will point the best signal, I want to be able to get the top 2 when they start to transmit.
Thanx

Dave,

WHDT has continually misrepresented the status of their debut. With all of the money they've spent, I'm beginning to think that they'll fold before they ever get their product to market.

Hardrock;
Thanks for the maps.

PS Any rumors on when NBC will do testing ?
George,

WTVJ will probably request another extension beyond their current deadline of Friday, October 5, 2001. Their petition to change Channels from 30 to 31 has been pending with the FCC since July 13, 2000. I'm sure they plan to milk that for all it's worth.
