But FOX does not do HD !
Do they? and I miss it?
All they do is transmit 480i in digital in 4:3.
But, they do have some HD equipment.
They complain about money, but not to investment.

At 24, do you still get picture and sound?
When it gets down that low, I don't get any.

As I suspected, w4guy has confirmed that their upgrade to full power is underway. Their full power antenna is currently scheduled to be hoisted on to the tower tomorrow.

In addition, the HD antenna for WB39 has already been mounted directly above WFOR's temporary array. No word on when WB39's transmitter will be operational.

Ahhhhhhhhh
This now makes sense why WFOR sometimes is not on the air.
Thanks Hardrock.

You do not want to be on the tower putting up an antenna with all that radiation. If I were an installer, I would ask to turn off the power ( or at least turn it down for safty reasons.)

Gee, isn't it wonderful that WB can put up their antenna, and NBC is waiting for another excuse.

Thank you hardrock for that update ... FINALLY some info on what in the @#$% has been wrong with WFOR ... I really miss not having the CBS HD line up ...

my signal fluctuates between about 10 and 20 .. lol can't wait to get it back in the 70 to 80 range where it was 2 weeks ago.

Reply to 'Bra:

I'm still getting WFOR-DT with about a 58 BER on the DTC100 and at the bottom range of "Normal" on the Zenith's "Bad/Normal/Good" meter. Signal drops out occasionally, though. I would expectv them to be off the air while the crew is on the tower today.

I certainly hope Mod Bott is reading this "s". There are always two sides to a story. There is the sincere AVS Rodmanbra and the real Boca Raton bra.

It should be clear to everyone what Dave's real CBS signal is and what WFOR is really all about. As for WFOR Hardrock, keep up the "good" work. Keep up the cartoons and leave the info to Mr 4DTV guy! I would prefer to here the truth from the horses mouth!

'Bra,

If you wanted a better answer you should have asked a better question.

In any event, things are bound to improve for you when WFOR gets up to full power.

How long does it take from when the antenna is "hoisted" until they begin using it?
You guys crack me!!!!!!!!!!!!!! up...This unbelievable. Hardrock even though i do not beg to CBS or you. I bend know how to bend my knees. It very easy!

Now to Dave. Should i ask my ?s to the "old" dave or the "new" one??? Now i know why Mod Bott is deleting posts and even making some vanish with no trace. that is HIS stress relief for enduring the south FL three headed monster. No not me, myself and i. Hardrock, a lake worth resident and a certain Rodmanbra or is it GORAN!?

Not to be a ham...but Mr Bott is actually my friend. Hehe!

Hardrock,

Did W4GUY say when they expect to start using the new antenna? and when they plan to go to full power? I only get 22 - 28 strengh on my DTC-100 and I cannot get it at all on the DTS-50! I was hoping to record the Gator's game with Tenessee.

Sandy,

My guess would be immediately, so let's say by the end of the week; but, they didn't say. I'll let you know if they update me.

Gentlemen,

Please excuse my extended absence from this forum. There has been a lot to keep us busy. As you know we are very close to mounting our DTV antenna. The conditions were not right for the antenna stub mounting today; we hope to hoist the stub tomorrow morning. The tower crew is one of the best I have had the experience to work with. They are competent, safe and are ahead of schedule. Most of the tower reinforcement has been completed. Still the difficult work is ahead of us. This is what we can project for the next few days.

Tuesday Morning: Antenna stub mounting sometime before 10:00 AM.
Tuesday Afternoon: Antenna hoist sometime before 4:00 P.M.
conditions permitting.
To recap:
The ÒSTUBÓ is nearly 8 feet tall and weighs 3 tons.
The antenna is nearly 50 feet long and weighs in excess of 14,000 Lbs.
The bolts that hold the antenna to the stub each weigh about 10 pounds!
LetÕs not go into the size of the wrench.

Once the antenna is mounted, it will take a few days to measure the remaining transmission line pieces and elbows. Every line piece is custom made from a factory in Raymond, Maine. It will take at least week for the sections to be manufactured and several days to ship. Installation of the line sections will follow soon after.

So, the $64,000 question is:

Will the low power transmitter be in operation throughout this schedule?
Yes: Unless we need to power down for the safety of the tower crew.

When the last bolt in the transmission line is torqued properly we will transmit from the new antenna.

There will be a noticible difference with the new antenna. We will use the same transmitter we currently have in operation. Currently the transmitter is loafing at less than 25% of its rated power.

Wfor: what is that! Welcome to the forum Mr4DTV!

Sandy,

Are u serious or joking? If what you are saying is true then CBS DAVE should join Gunther outside the forum. Then there is the issue of the pana 50? What is going on up their??
I suggest all 10 or more FL viewers to ignore anything #4 says. He has no regard for human civility!! We lost CBS programming for weeks. The R-E-A-L views should vote NO to WFOR "honesty."

I will proudly watch CBS from LA!
Qoute from WFOR:

"gentleman: please excuse..."

What about the ladies??
Thanks for the update, w4guy...and please keep us posted.
