the only news I have is KNMD (9.1, RF channel 8) has been added to DISH Network. So if you have stuff you want to record from 5.1 KNME or 9.1 KNMD with DISH Network, you can.

Portales PBS was added a month or so ago but I don't recall if I reported that when it happened or not. Three choices for PBS or public television syndicated programming on DISH Network now.

D* pushed down the new HD UI today on my two D* boxes (21 and 24).

As generic as the old UI was, I think I actually prefer it to the new black UI, not that I have any choice in the matter.

I am not yet seeing any change in performance, meaning that both boxes are somewhat sluggish, although word on DBSTalk is it takes a couple days to settle in.

I had two 24s updated as well. I'm not sure I care for the new look either. Performance seems the same except for the one which ran terribly before the update and is much better now.

We really badly need a 24/7 local weather channel, here in Albuquerque!!

One more room for both stations KASA-DT and KOAT-DT since they use 720P.

Most other TV market are useing the same thing!

Since New Mexico has lots of crazy weather here.

Let's me know what you think of this idea?

Weather subchannels are falling like flies because nobody can make any money on them. I would not expect to see new ones pop up in the near future.

I just found out KDAZ-AM 730 KHz, has came back on RF channel 51.5, while at the same time 4 videos channels remapped as ch 30.1 to 4.

The station's call letter is KYNM-LD running at 15 KW ERP.

New update news....

I found out that FCC's database has been updated on 2 local stations has filed for flash cut to digital.

KTFA-LP ch. 48 will go to digital at 15 KW, ERP.

https://licensing.fcc.gov/cgi-bin/ws...&fac_num=35085

K43HW-LP, will move to Sandia Crest and flash cut to digital also run at 15 KW ERP.

https://licensing.fcc.gov/cgi-bin/ws...&fac_num=32280

So I think we may get bunch of new sub channels for everyones!!

Any ideas what new sub channels will be like?

I wonder why this thread has been slow for several months now???

Anyhoo, little news on KAZQ-DT and KTVS-LD due to tower tune up so that's why they are off the air for several weeks now.

KTEL-LP ch. 47 is now CA, and the video is showing blank NTSC video carrer and I think they might be ready to flash cut to digital anytime soon.

More update news on KYNM-LD...

I just noted that they are testing 2 new subchannels, RF ch. 51.5 "The Nashville Network" and RF ch. 51.6 "The Weather Nation".

Both channels have no picture and sound at this time.

At the sametime they are moving KDAZ-AM to rf ch. 51.8.

There might more new news updates later on....

Not sure how they can be doing that when there is no satellite feed up for it and we have not signed any affiliate contracts yet.

No pictures and no sound. Probably just has the titles in the PSIP display.
As I said, "we have not signed any affiliate contracts yet." Not sure why they would have a subchannel lit up saying TNN in the absence of such a contract.

They are rebroadcasting KNMD-DT's signal and the 16:9 was pillerbox!

I wonder what the heck is going on anyideas?

Stranger thing happen in Albuquerque's TV market.

I noted that KRTN-LD ch. 33.1 RF ch. 39.1 is missing, and at the same time KTEL-LP on ch.47.1 RF ch. 39.2 is stil on the air. Still nothing new on Directv to add the local channel KRTN-DT or LD whatever comes first....smile.gif

Not much else going on, but have a happy safe fourth of July!!cool.gif

There hasn't been much (at least for me) on this forum for months, maybe years now. I heard that Comcast went all digital now so you will have to use a digital box for viewing locals unless you have a TV with a digital tuner.

I haven't been able to get KOAT-DT on one of my TV's using an indoor antenna for much more than 3 days now.

I don't know about the Albuquerque area. The translator links to Silver City for KOAT are working. There have been frequent loss of signal the last couple of weeks in the daytime, but it's usually back up by news time.

I saw a commercial for MundoFox, too, and also wonder if it will be over the air or on cable or what.

Local channels not replying to emails include Channel 13. I wrote months ago but got no reply. I had moved my indoor antenna slightly, actually moving the new digital TV and old DVDR closer to my window, and I immediately stopped getting 13. Still got and get 2.1, 2.2, 4.1, 4.2, 5.1, 5.2, 7.1, 7.2, 14, 19, 41.1, 41.2, 41.3 just fine (the others I don't care about). 13, no luck, no matter how I position the antenna (and I don't like to move it since I can lose the other channels that way). I wrote channel 13 to report this (are they still broadcasting toward downtown? Can they get their own signal since there station is ~1/2 mile west of me? ) and asked where I can get CBS programs online. They either didn't know or didn't care because they didn't reply. Maybe they hope I won't notice how all the other broadcasters offer shows online. I stumbled across a rather dicy place and downloaded Person of Interest so I'm caught up. I'm hoping someone will release Elementary that way, too, so I don' thave to wait for Netflix. It's really dumb when entertainment outlets ignore emails that are sent to them via their own websites.

I also have had trouble getting responses from KRQE but if you want to PM me, I have the station manager's home telephone number which he gave me years ago. I'm assuming it hasn't changed?

Thanks, Lujan, but I don't think I'm that anxious to watch channel 13! smile.gif

There are only the two shows I'm interested in, and odds are Elementary, even if brilliant, will be canceled. I'm pleasantly surprised Person of Interest was renewed for a second season; sometimes high ratings can't be ignored. I have a friend who will surely be recording Elementary, so maybe I can borrow her DVDs.

KCHF-DT ch. 11.1 RF ch. 10.1 has added Weather Nation in HD at 720p, on ch.11.2 RF ch. 10.2 much better than KYNM-LD rf ch. 51.1 which shows only in 480i format. KYNM-LD is still testing 2 more new sub channels.smile.gif
