Hello Z3 owners -
I am in desperate need of some help and advise.
I have a DVDO iScan VP30 connected via HDMI to the PLV-Z3.
In certain screen settings, the Z3 only shows bad distortion (see attached photo). Here are the details
If the output of the VP30 is set to 720p, Screen Mode 'Full' looks perfectly fine but Screen Mode 'Natural Wide 2' is distorted.
If the output of the VP30 is set to 1080i, Screen Mode 'Natural Wide 2' looks fine (although cut off on the left and the right of the picture) and mode 'Full' is distorted.
In 576p all modes are fine, except 'Natural Wide 1' and 'Natural Wide 2'.
It does not matter which input source I use, I am even seeing this effect with the internal test pattern generator of the VP30.
The VP30 has the latest firmware.
I tried a different (much shorter) HDMI cable with no luck.
There are no issues when I connect my DVD-Player (a Denon DVD-3910) directly with the Z3.
I had the local Sanyo Service Partner check the projector. They didn't find any issues. The also upgraded the firmware to version 1.0.3. It didn't help.
Finally I sent the VP30 back to the dealer. They tested it and did not find any issues with it. So they sent it back to me. But the problem is still there.
I don't know what else I can do. I still think that there may be something wrong with the VP30. But I have no clue how to prove it.
Or maybe the Z3 simply doesn't work well with the VP30?
Does anybody have any idea what may be going on here?
Any suggestion would be highly appreciated!
