Mitsubishi WD XX725 owners thread

I thought I would get this started as I am expecting my 52725 in the next week or so from what I hear from the dealer. Also, the Mits DLP thread has gotten quite large and its about time to start focusing on the individual models when it comes to first impressions, tweaks and calibration.

I think the anti-glare screen will create calibration differences between the 52525 and the 52725, so we will see where this goes!

Can't wait for mine to arrive!

My local dealer is telling me they are due in on 9/20, so maybe yours will come in sooner!
My dealer says sometime between the 14th and 25th of this month. They went into production on the 3rd of the month. If they are available before the end of the month, I have the option of swapping my 525 with the 725 if I pay the price difference... I may just do that if given the chance.

I really had no choice but to wait, the 52525 because of the screen has way too much glare for my room. So my dealer let me have a Sony GWIII until the 52725 comes in because at the time the 52525 was not in stock.

I will swap out my WD-62525 for the 725 as soon as they become available.

To anyone and everyone who views a 725 in the store.....if you can, please have the salesperson hook up a Mits HD2000U D-VCR to the 725 via firewire and see if it records HD. Thank you.

Just a reminder the Mitsubishi 24 month no interest and no payments financing ends 9/13. I went in today to get it all squared away so I could take advantage of free money for 2 years.

I heard that the 52725 is supposed to be here sometime this week. Cant wait!

I changed it on the first post, not sure though how to change the name of the Thread. Is that something the Mod needs to do?

For anyone living the Seattle/Tacoma area, Magnolia will have the 62725's in Oct 15th. I have pre-ordered one from the Tacoma store, said they had 60 units coming in and 20 had already been sold.

I got you covered! The tread title is changed. Plus I've added it to the Mits section of the "Popular Threads" post stuck near the top of the forum. So it will always be easy to find.

Its a nice looking display!

My 52725 gets delivered tomorrow. I can't wait!
Just saw the 52725 at Anderson's in Dublin...Anderson's has 82 in stock, and will get the 62725 in 2 weeks.

The box looks great, screen guard is much less reflective, and I didn't notice any tilt/skew to the image. The only draw back is that the lower section of the box (around the feet) is silver, versus black for the rest of the unit. It looks pretty stupid, but it will help with matching the Mits stand.

Price is $200 over the xx525.

I cant wait for mine either. I will post a picture of it up here sometime tomorrow. Plus I picked up a new Panasonic XP30 to play with especially after seeing the DVD Benchmark ratings. I bet it will look awesome with the 725.

I just got home from pulling trigger on 52725 purchase. I have been waiting on the Sammy 5674 for a long long time and now hear it is still more wait and specs may be less than originally thought. My local Ultimate Electronics unboxed their first 725 just for me to see. I liked the all black front and the glare was a lot better (there is still a little). I think that glass screen is one of the things that really helps make the sharp picture.

Should get it Sunday or later next week. Will post when it is all setup. Like DRE it is my first HDTV.

I guess I am giving up 4" and the the DVI port as compared to Sammy. I think other features like net command, better PIP, firewire, plus get it now make it worth it. Mitsubishi is definitely a good manufacturer as I have now owned nothing but Mitusbishi (as main TV) for my entire adult life (over 20 years). Hope this proves to keep me happy customer.

Can't wait until delivery - it will be like a kid at Christmas.

It's only a few hours away now, Andersons called and the 725 will be here between 11-1 PT. Getting close to ownership! Pictures forthcoming!

OK, got the 52725 this afternoon, and after a quick calibration am posting pictures. I have to spend more time with it and tweak. Had a problem getting the HDMI to work, finally did by crimping the HDMI connector slightly.

Still see some glare but its no comparison to the 525 from what I can tell. I have only had it a few hours. So far am impressed.

So here are the pictures.
