Can anyone "in the know" in Columbus explain what WSYX's application to move from VHF 13 to UHF 48 means? According to a number of sources, WSYX applied to the FCC prior to June 21 to move from their current RF 13 to RF 48 -- is this due to unhappiness with coverage of their digital signal?
Haven't been able to find any real explanation from Google searches, in the Col. Dispatch, or on the WSYX website.
EDIT: Got the answer already! Trip at RabbitEars.info explained on another thread that WSYX owner Sinclair wants off VHF everywhere in preparation for Mobile DTV, which works better on UHF. (Wonder if that technology is then going to be the death knell for VHF in general?)
