this morning i was getting KTIU 34-3 and KBTV 4-1 Beaumont Tx. WKRG-TV Mobile, Alabama, WHLT 22.1 Hattiesburg Ms. and WAKA 8.1 Montgomery Alabama. hope tonight has better tropo before cold front passes thru here around 3am and kills all the good tropo. i have noticed the past 2 days when dxing about 12am channel 2 on RF 13 Signal goes Completely dead nothing on my Signal meter totally off the air until about 4am. anyone else notice this?

Someone needs to slap the people processing the video on the remote live shots for WBRZ. It's clearly SD but they are changing the aspect ratio. Not sure what they are doing, but it looks like you are watching a 16:9 video compressed to fit into 4:3 but yet it fills the 16:9 screen. Everyone looks skinny and sick looking

Yeah I've noticed that too. Typical "local know-how". There's some local stations that go without audio for hours. Apparently that's when they have some local Jr. High school interning.....which seems to be on the rise.

I bought the Antenna Craft HDX1000 (comes with amp) and installed it in the attic pointed at 260 degrees. I got a total of 14 clear channels, i think 3 were duplicates.
The LPB HD channel was fading in and out, after i played with the wiring in the attic i realized i wound up disconnecting the cable internet. While i was gone, the cable guy came to fix it and did, while replacing the old rg5 wire, which now has rg6 and speed it up.
He disconnected the antenna up there since i plugged into the 3 way splitter up there the cable was in (oops lol)
I connected the antenna to the cable that went to my room, which was here when i bought it. No signal. I connected the cable straight to the tv from the antenna which brought back all the signal. one 2ft piece of rg5 killed the signal by 40% btw.

Im going to try a 20-30ft pole next.

Is it possible to mount and 2nd antenna towards new orleans and have both inputting into the tv at the same time, so i do not need to rotate it?

WVLA and WGMB news are now in widescreen.

I put up a 40ft post and the round antenna from radio shack (with its amp) and im picking up BR (pointed at BR) and N.O. stations at the same time. 34 stations total, 4 analog; 2 of which are non broadcasting.
Very pleased with it.

So how is it? Just widescreen and not HD?

It is not HD but much better than it was before. The weather is widescreen too. It is similar to WWL and WGNO from New Orleans.

I just watched the weather on nbc33. It is widescreen but no where near Hd quality.
In my opinion, it Looks the same as before, maybe a hair better, but definitely not even close to hd.

I'm moving to the area in a couple of weeks and was wondering if anyone has insight into when cox in baton rouge will be getting the whole-home dvr service that's being rolled out this year??

I haven't heard anything... we haven't even picked up DOCSIS 3 yet on the cable modems like many areas have around the US with Cox. And on top of that there's been two loooonggg threads on DSLReports about how slow the cable modems have been in the BR area for the past year or two during the evenings. So I wouldn't hold your breath. If you want whole house DVR I'd pick up DirecTV with the DECA adapter and MRV option.

I see after almost 4 years we now have guide data on Dish network for 44.2 wbrl ota.

here in Baton Rouge La i am receiving a new digital ATSC channel on 14.1 RF14 on my DTT901 converter box & OLEVIA TV but can not receive this channel on my PC computer ATSC tuner card. the channel has a very strong 90% signal on my DTT901 converter box. the channel has no call letters or guide info. the channel has local & out of state local programing. I think it is a DT-LP (Digital-Low Power) Station. Anyone receiving or can not receive this channel ? Remember you must do a rescan on your TV or Converter box to receive new channels if you can not add channels manually.

Wow... KPBN is finally on the air. I remember they told me back in like 2007 they would have their digital going.

Scanned them on the slingbox... I can only get them at like 67% signal at my location (north east BR). But I didn't see any dropouts. Weird thing is their PelicanHD channel which I believe is the same as their SD channel is not showing the same programming on the DTV 14 channel.

i thought that looked like programing that pelicansportstv has but did not know if it was them or not thanks guys for info.

I noticed yesterday WAFB looked like they were doing some work on their tower located next to the station. I tried to see this morning but it was darker due to the weather...looked like I could see two cables coming down from equipment.

Wonder what they're doing?

I'm currently getting a signal strength of 14 percent on WVLA when it is normally over 80 in Paincourtville with my antenna pointed to New Orleans. WGMB/WBRL is 0 signal strength and out on Charter cable, WGMB HD 713 and analog channels WBRL 7 and WGMB 13 are out. Charter is still picking up WVLA HD with some breakups. They are showing WGMB on 174 WVLA ThisTv from 33.2. It would be nice if Charter could get WBRL HD by fiber so we could have the CW in HD.

FOX44CE, is Charter getting a fiber feed now? All the channels are working now.

So, WVLA's tower is out? I stopped receiving channel 33 and 44 in Baton Rouge.

Kinda crappy... was hoping they would have left that sucker up and used it for an HD feed of their sister station WBXH.
