I realize this thread is OTA but there is no local cable
thread so I'm hoping at least some of you have cable access and know something about this: Does anyone have any idea WTF Cox has done to the local network affiliate digital and HDTV channels? Not a single TV nor device in the house can receive them any longer, you can only get them with the STB! All we can get now are the worthless useless "Cox promo" channels and a useless PBS/LPB sub-channel! No more ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC, (main) LPB, etc. On some TV's these are ch's 703, 705, 706, etc., but on my Magnavox DVR they are decimal #'s like 94.1, 100.5, 117.1, etc. Nothing but a blank black screen. (I don't know if it's related but we also can't watch anything on Video-On-Demand, channel 1, that's with a STB of course. There is also numerous STB-required premium cable channels that now show "Temporarily Off-Air").
: I've been doing some searches and found this: http://www.wafb9.com/story/23515007/cox-cable-changes-to-hdtv-channels-set-to-take-effect
. How "nice" of them to let their customers know about this!
So we have to take about ~an hour and do a rescan to receive them again. But that doesn't explain the issue with VoD. I'm leaving this post here in the event others may be wondering.Edited by Clint S. - 9/27/13 at 12:48am
