When Cv came and installed HD, tech gave me new rg6 wire from outside to inside splitter. I ran new rg6 to STB, and new rg6 to modem for Optimum. Still have to get around to replacing old rg59 wire that goes upstairs. hope this helps.. are you going to the HT show this month in NY? Matt
Thanks Matt. I think my problem could be a few things #1 the cable that goes from the outside splitter to my first inside splitter was probably installed in the 80's. When they came and hooked up my cable they never changed it. I installed RG6 wire from my first inside splitter to the back of my TV and used screw on F connectors (mistake #2). I've been told screw on connectors aren't good. The cable tech replaced my screw on connectors but not the cables. What they've told me is I have a weak signal & signal leakage (problem #3). Next time I have a tech out I'm getting the cable changed. I just hate paying the $40 service fee every time they come out only to have a few of my HD channels stop working a few weeks later. I'm going change around my setup soon as I have time and see if I can get Stars HD and INHD back again.
Not going to the HT show this year. Last year I went to check out the Samsung TV sets. I've got my TV now so no need to go look at a bunch of stuff I can't afford. :-)
