ESPN2 is coming some time to Cablevision I would assume but not for a while. Remember last year Cablevision finally added ESPNHD right before the NHL Stanley Cup Finals so maybe we'll see it by the time of the NBA Finals?

TNT I have no idea why it isn't already on Cablevision especially since Voom carriers TNT-HD.

Why are there only 156 sigs on the petition? Cmon Yankee fans lets make some noise here. If CV thinks only 156 subs care then they will NEVER give us what we want. For my money you can take back universal hd (it stinks...how much law and order can you take?) and give us what we want
YES HD!

Yeah! Get off your butts and sign! I signed it and I'm a Red Sox fan. I also recommend emailing CV as often as possible -- I have been doing this every other day or so. I want to see my enemy clearly in HD. Dan
post #129 of 8655
Sending CV a petition with only 150 sigs would do more harm than good. It unfortunately underscores how little support there is for this channel.
Sorry, but no support from me. It's channels like this that make my monthly subscription rise. ESPN is the biggest offender. I wouldn't mind signing if this is for telling CableVision to offer it as an additional subscription. You have my support on that.

I'm a Met fan, but would go for ANY baseball in HD...so sure, throw YES on there, maybe i can even watch that Kidd guy in HD as well...i was quite surprised when the Knicks at Nets game the other day was actually in HD on MSGHD...one step at a time...one can only hope when the Mets play in San Diego etc we can get some HD broadcasts.

Not happening this year anyway. MSG has done all games that the Knicks play at Continental Airlines in HD for the past 2 seasons. Next year though when the Mets start their new RSN we'll see quite a few road games in HD.
Tonight I showed my wife how bad it is - the Mets get f***ing HD, and my Yankees get crap SD

Burn in hell cablevision
but will the new RSN be picked up by Cablevision? or is that a non-issue?

It looks like it might be the Yes Network all over again. Atleast from today's perspective. That can change ofcourse but when you think of the circumstances especially this time around you'd have to believe that Dolan would especially be stubborn with the Mets. This guy never learns from his mistakes.

I hate to interrupt the Mets / Yankees HD discussion but I've got an issue with my HD reception I was hoping someone could help me with. I've had cablevision out a few times to fix the issue and each time the issue returns. The tech comes and I get all the HD channels I'm supposed to get. Like a week or two later the channels begin to drop. I always lose Stars and INHD, just get a black screen on these two, the other HD channels work pretty well, once in a while a slight pixilation/breakup then fine again. I think it could be a grounding issue? The tech last time said I had a weak signal and replaced an outside splitter and a few cable ends. I guess I have signal leakage from somewhere? Anyone have any suggestions? I thought about trying a different cable as the one that runs inside the house probably isn't the greatest. There is a splitter on the outside of the house, then a 1 to 2, then a 1 to 4 behind my HD set. I know that's not ideal to have so many splitters inline but I have a lot of devices that use the cable feed plus it continues to another room from the 4 to 1 splitter for analog only TV viewing.
Is there a certain type of cable I should use other than regular RG6?
Splitter type that's better?
I'm lost here, my reception isn't bad I'd just like to get all the channels I pay for and cablevision doesn't seem to be able to get it to work consistently.
Call cablevision and ask them to come and do a leak test. Also have them install signal amplifiers (at least one, two would be better) and have them replace any cheap radio shack splitters you may have. The amps are $50.00 each and they need a power supply. Don't bother using the radio shack amps and splitters as they are poor quality and wont do anything to help your reception. If you have long cable runs and a lot of splitters inline then chances are your signal is not strong enough to produce an hd picture.

sorry to go back to the Mets topic, but i was watching the first 5 or 6 innings of the game on FSNYHD and the feed was CONSTANTLY disrupted...like you couldnt watch an AB without an interruption...anyone else have this issue?
Thanks gman.
Jonny - same thing here, constant drop outs on the mets game today.
I had the same thing going on my system with FSNY-HD tonight.
I may try a few options one might be to run a one to two splitter, running one end to my HD cable box the other to a second larger splitter for analog only TV's. My thinking is I might get a better signal with a 1 to 2 splitter vs a 1 to 4 splitter. The trick is getting behind my TV to re-wire the whole setup.

SIDIMMER: first I had the same problem with Mets last nite, terrible video dropout. Wanted to go back and forth from game to CSI but it was impossible. When Cv came and installed HD, tech gave me new rg6 wire from outside to inside splitter. I ran new rg6 to STB, and new rg6 to modem for Optimum. Still have to get around to replacing old rg59 wire that goes upstairs. hope this helps.. are you going to the HT show this month in NY? Matt
post #143 of 8655
this was a system wide CV problem.

and again tonight---this time with grey screens..great.

Atleast the video was fine just the blackouts every now and then. And its only with FSN too and not MSG. I'm gonna try and get an antenna tomorrow to see the game on WPIX. It's rediculous that Cablevision still hasn't added that or WWOR to the HD lineup.

Thanks Matt. I think my problem could be a few things #1 the cable that goes from the outside splitter to my first inside splitter was probably installed in the 80's. When they came and hooked up my cable they never changed it. I installed RG6 wire from my first inside splitter to the back of my TV and used screw on F connectors (mistake #2). I've been told screw on connectors aren't good. The cable tech replaced my screw on connectors but not the cables. What they've told me is I have a weak signal & signal leakage (problem #3). Next time I have a tech out I'm getting the cable changed. I just hate paying the $40 service fee every time they come out only to have a few of my HD channels stop working a few weeks later. I'm going change around my setup soon as I have time and see if I can get Stars HD and INHD back again.
Not going to the HT show this year. Last year I went to check out the Samsung TV sets. I've got my TV now so no need to go look at a bunch of stuff I can't afford. :-)

Can this be true? Yankees home games and select away games in hd on cablevision starting this Thurs against the Angels on channel 715 at 7:00 pm. I'll believe it when I see it!
