That would save you $5.95 a month. DVR Plus has its shortcomings compared to the SA8300, with its only real advantages being the 4 recordings at once, whole house feature, and it will still record your shows even during a power outage. For your basic time shifting it works fine though. Also if you have a mix of HD and SD boxes, you can't watch anything recorded in HD on a SD box.
I did have an outage of the DVR Plus service tonight though where I couldn't access my recordings from about 8:20 until 9:30. Things scheduled during that time did record though. That has happened a few times over the past couple of months. They are aware of the problem and it apparently is an overload of the system that they need to make some adjustments for.
