on Bounce TV the guide is off by an hour right now. This is on 3 different things
-guide on the 42" plasma
-guide on the 32" AOC
-guide on the DTV Pal

so as example Soul Train is on at 5:00 and Fat Albert is on at 6 CDT but the guide shifts it an hour. So at 6:00 it says Soul Train

Both my Vizio's PSIP guide show Soul Train on at 5pm which it is....Are you sure your TVs are setup for the correct time zone? I know when mine gets off programming times are off.
I wonder if Tivo/Tribune will add Bounce? I've given up on TVGOS ever updating anything They still haven't added Livewell or even AntennaTV

Well, Tribune did add Livewell to Zap2it and Tivo, but 29-2 is still messed up, so who knows if/when they'll add Bounce. I'm not holding my breath... I'd love to know the real story behind why Tribune is so slow and inconsistent with OTA listings and updates.

Looks Like TPT has decided to air TPT Life in 1080i ! My TV's not getting any EPG data currently, but I'm sure that'll be included soon enough. Can't wait to see some PBS HD content broadcast at full resolution without any bits being gobbled up by other channels. I'm sure it'll bring back memories of the old undiluted PBSHD feed that used to be on 1-1 (To those new to the local OTA scene, there really was a channel 1-1 for a while roughly a decade ago.)

yup showing in 1080i....looks like the SD channel (that satellite uses as 17) is just chopping the sides off

Some of the stuff is up-converted SD, some is full HD. Depends on the show. Either way, it beats the heck out of what we had before. So far the 4:3 SD stuff I've seen has been shown in proper aspect with bars on the sides.

it will be nice though to see replays of stuff in HD on there.
Once in a while if I miss something on 2 it sucked seeing it on 17 (2-3) but in SD

Also some musical programs(live from the artists den, I believe) was only shown on SD Life, I refused to watch something I knew was shot in good HD on a SD channel like Life. I look forward to it
So what channels are on what channel now? Sounds like 2.1 is by itself? Does that mean everything else including MDTV is with the HD Life channel?

nothing changed. The RF channels are still the same

RF23 has TPTLIfe (2-3), the 2nd copy of MN channel (23-7 if your TV does that) and the 2 "UpdateTV" thingys
RF34 has TPT, TPT MN and TPT WX (2-1, 2-2, 2-4)

New Scandinavian Cooking is currently being broadcast in postage stamp format sure it may be a letterboxed SD source but I don't see why KTCA can't zoom it to fit the frame
unclehonkey, isn't KTCA currently using MDTV? if so that can use a fair bit of bandwidth too.

If I ever see something simulcast on Life and TPT2 I'll record it on my Tivo, then I'll then look at the file size, I'd be interested to see if Life was larger than TPT2.

It's interesting that the listing information at titantv.com has removed 23-2 and added 29-3, while Tribune's information at Zap2it.com still shows 23-2 and is missing 29-3. Too bad Windows, TVGOS and Tivo don't use Titan's data!

TPT has their Mobile TV service piggybacked on the KSTP Mobile feed. Currently KSTP transmits 3 identical channels of their main ABC feed and a mobile version of KTCA.

Looks like Tribune has finally realized that 23-2 no longer exists and have removed it from their listings at zap2it. I wonder how much longer it will take them to discover that 29-3 has been added.

Well, I know that I need to do some re-scans again. It takes a little while for me, since I have a number of ATSC tuners around. Some are converter boxes and others are internal to TVs. With the weather turning cooler, that might be a project on a day off soon. There is no big hurry, but I should do it pretty soon. I sort of wonder how often "Joe Average" does a re-scan. I suspect not very often. Probably never in many cases. If you regularly tune just a few local channels, but occasionally scan through the others, there is a good chance that you will be totally unaware of other channels (sub-channels) coming and going.

I agree but at least most of my newer TVs don't seem to require a rescan when sub channels are added, only when major things are done to the channel lineup. Others like my older Vizio or Panasonic need a rescan whenever anything is changed

both my 5 year old Panny plasma and my 3 year old AOC TV automatically update when a subchannel is added or removed. When CoolTV left I was on 23-3 and it updated on both
When BounceTV was added I just turned the TV to 29-1 and it was added

My DTVPal converter boxes need a rescan for channels to add. To remove them I have to remove them from the list

My wife just brought this to my attention. Although this specifically refers to KARE 11 delivered via DISH Network direct broadcast satellite I am posting this here because KARE 11 is a local HDTV provider. In my case, I have chosen to receive this via my over the air antenna and, particularly in light of things like this, I will continue to do so.

I saw that scroll last night when watching P&R OTA on KARE. Glad I'm OTA where I don't have to pay to not receive channels

I'm a dish subscriber and side with them on all these disputes. I'm glad someone stands up to these stattions. I think the whole pay tv model is broke and needs to change and this is just part of that. Why should dish have to pay to carry something that is free only to pass along costs to us. Especially since the channel gets into many more homes if dish carries it than if they don't.

From what I found on "the other site" they are asking for a 300% price increase and disabling of the auto-hop feature.

 

So huge price increase on something people can get for free.  And focus on disabling a feature that only one provider provides, for which a very small number of people can use, and an even smaller number of people actually have it turned on and those people are already watching the show at least 24 hours after it aired to use the feature.  

 

Sounds like a company ringing out every last penny of their dying business model.

Well, should I assume that DISH has NOT disabled the auto hop for any other channels yet. I think I read that DISH had similar disputes for up to 3 weeks recently, I wonder how they eventually settled?

correct, Dish has not disabled it.  Rumor has it that is part of the current AMC trial/dispute as well.  And another rumor is DirecTV has a similar feature ready to launch pending a couple of the current lawsuits against Dish.
