I am pretty sure KPXB-DT (channel 5 digital) is located in Missouri City with everybody else. Or at least they are supposed to be.
One of the things the FCC is allowing during the digital transition is for every station in the market to pretty much match the coverage of the best station in the market. In Houston, everyone (or at least those whose FCC filings I have read) is trying to match KPRC's analog coverage. Part of that is being located close to the KPRC antenna.
I don't know this for sure, but it is possible that some of those analog stations that were located somewhere other than Missouri City were located where they were because FCC distance requirements from previously existing same channel and adjacent channel stations elsewhere precluded them from being located in Missouri City.
Here is a map showing the KPXB-DT location:http://tiger.census.gov/cgi-bin/mapg...ht=0.5&wid=0.5
The link came from this FCC query page:http://www.fcc.gov/fcc-bin/tvq?list=0&facid=58835
Look for "Area Map" under the DT station entry.
Coordinates given as:
29° 34' 15.00" N Latitude
95° 30' 37.00" W Longitude (NAD 27)
Looks like KPXB also has an application in to be allowed to move their analog transmitter (channel 49) to Missouri City as well.
