How can I distribute the DSS (satelite) signal

Hi! This might be a stupid question but... Is there any way to split the DSS signal that is coming from 1 cable for two different receivers? That is instead of running the second cable into the house. I've looked at the multi-switches and I still have to connect them to both ports of the dual LNB. If you have any ideas or devices that can do that in mind, please let me know. (I am just looking forward for the dual tuner support for TiVo and I am not looking forward to running another cable into the house).

Thanks!

You can split the signal using a DSS splitter (It has a wider bandwidth than RF cable splitters). The problem will be tuning the sat channels. The satellite receivers control the LNBs polarity for tuning. If the sat channels "tuned" by the two sat receivers are on opposite polarities then only one channel will be visible the other will be blank.

You will also need to use a DC blocker on one of the splitter ports. The satellite receivers power the LNB via the coaxial cable so you want to "block" the DC from one of the receivers.

Thanks! It seems like to get the full functionality of both receivers at the same time I have to run the second cable. We'll do.

Thanks again.
