It's my understanding that the metadata NBC sends down for switching is FUBAR w/r/t WDIV's DD 5.1 gear.
PS - Don, if you agree, could you please pass on the sentiment that we really don't appreciate having the last 75 minutes of prime time HD shrunken to one-third size and low resolution for the purpose of continuous election "updates" that we were going to hear about at 11:00 anyway?
Ordinarily, they don't mess with it on DT. You rarely see weather bugs. Not sure why this was different.
I had no sound at all on WDIV last evening - anyone else have that problem?
It was there through 8:30, which is when I went to bed. But I could tell they'd switched encoders. The Sammy has a LONG delay the first time I tune them after they've done that. You may need to reboot or rescan every time they change encoders. Again, it should only last a couple days. I have no timetable on the 5.1. Apparently, that'll be an NBC issue. When they get their end fixed, then WDIV's auto switching gear will work and they'll put it online.
