It appears game 4 and possibly game 7 will be on FSN Detroit, and I would expect them also in HD.

As I understand it, all games except 3 and 6 (the NBC games) will be on FS Detroit.

Kind of funny how a single Canadian network can manage to broadcast all of our games, yet they need to be spread over three separate American networks.

I pulled trigger and will provide story after shakedown cruise. (slow shipping because it was free) {I never had this device so waiting an extra week is no big deal}

What the heck was FOX2 doing last night during Human Target? They switched back to the SD feed at random times and stayed in it coming out of commercial breaks.

They've been having lots of issues the past two weeks.
Speaking of issues, anyone else have Brighthouse? They must have rearranged the actual channels, again, because when I try to tune 62.1, my QAM TVs and my HTPC get WTVS-DT. Means I have to rescan every TV in the house. Wish they'd leave the locals right where they are. I haven't checked, but I'll bet I recorded "Nova" or something instead of "Letterman" again.

UPDATE: Well, by the time I got home, it was all back to the way it was.

I gave up on recording OTA HD via BrightHouse last year after they kept changing the RF channel the OTA's were on. I use an antenna in my attic instead. Now I know I'm not getting a BrightHouse bit shaved special and the RF channels don't change either.

A few problems with the Red Wings game tonight. Twice they have gone to a slate with Technical Difficulties. I wonder if the problem is in the truck, the local transmission loop, or the Fox Sports Private Line Network back to Houston?

If it keeps up, I may change two of the four tuners in the HTPC to ATSC. Or maybe all four and just use their DVR for the cable stuff. 90% of what I watch is network, anyway. It's just that I'll go off and forget I swung my antennas around to Toledo and miss whatever I had it set for.

I live within the footprint of Comcast's big "SE MI" system in Macomb County.

Within the last couple of days, I've noticed SpikeTV has gone M.I.A. from analog channel 57 but has remained available on digital 57, and of course, HD digital 226.

The last time an analog channel went blank (WADL was removed from analog channel 14), 3 or 4 new HD channels appeared a few days later.

Is Ken H or anyone else aware of impending HD channel additions to the SE MI line-up? Or did 57 go blank to make room for the extremely seldom used
3DTV channel on digital 986?

The first wave of mass channel removals for HD expansion isn't scheduled to occur here until July, so I'm wondering what's going on.

Thanks in advance for any answers fellow readers are able to share.

Any update on the HD/SD switching problems at WJBK?

I don't know about updates, but it appears they're still having splicer issues. They keep staying on net during local breaks giving us either the blue Fox logo card or the program slate. Tells me they may be switching it manually.

I'm on the SEMI system (Macomb Township) as well. Just checked out analog 57 and it's coming in fine for me. I'd get in touch with Comcast if it's not coming in for you.

Maybe I'm a little behind in this forum, but I noticed this past weekend that Fox Sports Detroit + now has an HD feed (On DirecTV at least). However, on Frday the Tiger game was on FSD+, but the HD feed was SD will "FSD HD" bars on each side (the reason why I found this strange was that the following night the Tigers were on regular FSD in HD..and both Friday and Saturday's games were from the same location (Seatte)). Maybe bandwidth limitations somewhere else prevented the game from being in HD on Friday?

Moxi arrived on Wed (48 hours) Comcast insisted on a truck roll to install Cable Card. I protested to no avail.I asked why I was not permitted to fail before rolling truck but was informed it is policy. I had gone through install of Cable Card on TV years ago. Plug in, read numbers to a person on phone. Monday install was soonest appointment. Tech had never heard of Moxi and I told him to - Cable CARD Initialization
- Cable CARD Refresh
- Cable CARD Validate (CCV).
All went well and I am playing now. I get HBO and have a live buffer that works all the time.
Only problem (so far) is while networked to my system (Win7) I get DNLA failures and when I do get music or movie up I cannot fast forward. Any Suggestions?

That's very interesting. No such channel up on Comcast. As far as I know, FS Plus is a SD-only feed. Hopefully what you're seeing is a harbinger of things to come, though.

Can someone please explain to me in simple terms what Comcrap is doing with the cable?
is it all going Digital?. Am I being forced into paying to get a Digital box for my second QAM HDTV?

Any Info would be great,,,

I remember reading some complaints in here about a decrease in WXYZ picture quality, am I correct? If so, I think I've found the answer. Check the last paragraph:

http://www.multichannel.com/article/...unch_May_3.php

I'm attempting to get TSReader data to confirm the presence of Mobile DTV in the WXYZ and WDIV bitstreams.

If 'DIV is involved, then you'd think we'd have seen a decrease in their picture quality as well. I haven't noticed any decline. Then again, if they haven't started sending Mobile DTV yet, that would explain the lack of a decline.

Good call, thanks for the tip, I have a Custom channel lineup, so I wouldn't have thought to tune to 664-1.

Take a look at the Comcast lineup http://www.comcast.com/MediaLibrary/...EMI_Lineup.pdf
A QAM tuner will receive everything on Limited Basic (except Digital Music Choice) and Limited Basic HD. For anything else you need a digital box which is likely to have hardware rental fees and additional outlet charges depending on your plan and negotiating skills.

I suspect the added costs and hassle of the digital box for every TV model will drive more customers to down grade or cut the cable entirely. For me Limited Basic for $15.99/month provides a good value. I use a TiVo and supplement cable with Netflix streaming and over the air Canadian channels. It won't work for everyone and I have no idea if Comcast would care unless large numbers of subscribers take action.

Looks like WJBK has corrected whatever technical issues were plaguing them the past two weeks. Tonight's episode of 24 was HD all the way through.

Well, Comcast has been eliminating most analog channels for some time now, and offering free "digital adapter" boxes to compensate. But, you mention your QAM HDTV, which is, of course, digital, so "going all digital" alone would have no effect. But, some QAM channels that once were clear, i.e. unscrambled, may have been scrambled, so you might need a digital box.

It would seem 2+2=4.

Having issues again tonight
Whatever issues WJBK (Fox 2 in Detroit) is having was enough to bring me here to mention it.

The changeover from SD to HD isn't getting done on time - parts of American Idol last week were in SD, then a sudden switch in the middle of the snow. Usually happens coming out of an SD commercial it seems.

Glee was the same way, except it was an entire commercial to commercial section about 2/3 of the way through the show.

Do they just not care about fixing their issue? Do they figure not enough people have HD to care? Or is the "we're sending out a signal - who cares?"
