No clue here. I noticed that the signal dropped off completely just a few minutes ago. The signal for VHF07 went from 92 down to 78 for me. I'm getting UHF34 at 84.

Last night I couldn't get either channel on the Mits tuner, but 7-1 (at 34%) came in on the D* HR20. Realy strange.

Anybody having problems with 12.1? It shows 100% on my HR-20 but "searching for signal" message. Didn't record several shows last week.

I have also seen this problem with my HR-20. I think that what is happening is the HR-20 is reporting the strength from 43 but actually tunning in on 36. In order to fix it, you need to clear the locals, reboot the HR-20, and then resync the locals with the antena disconnected. This will sync the channels to only what's in the D* data base. A problem with this is that 7-1 will sync to 7 instead of 34. 34 is stronger than 7 so 7-1 won't always come in.

I tried the reboot and the disconnected scan without success. Tried again and fixed 12.1 but I still don't get 7. I am in south Redding so Shasta Bally is in the opposite direction from the others. I have been waiting for 3 years for Directv to add the locals in HD as stated. Tired of waiting!

I don't think DirecTV will get locals over the Sat any time soon. It's a large geographic area, Chico/Redding, and a comparitivly small customer base. It would take a spot beam that covers a large area, and they are probobly being used for larger markets (i.e.; Bay Area/Sack). I think we have been SOL since the failure of D10.

Just moved back to Chico .... seems like there is no HD QAM channels? All my Samsung will pick up are standard def channels, around 30 of them I think.

Comcast is basically saying, no HD for QAM, degrade quality with a set top box, and charge you extra for the box...and then more yet for HD? Or am I missing something.

I have a HR-20-700 DVR and have audio and video breakup when I record Fox and NBC OTA. I have 70% on Fox and 85% on the signal meter. This problem has existed for over a year. Anyone else have this problem? I had D* send me a new HR-20 that didn't solve the problem. Any suggestions.

I live in Chico and can't get KRCR at all now that I have a splitter. Would a pre-amp help? And if so, which do you recommend?

I have had this problem with my HR-20 since the implementation of double play, a feature I never use. The S/W is trying to do to much with the resources at hand. I only notice the problem with MPEG 2, OTA, and not MPEG 4, everything else. Since few people use MPEG 2 anymore, most get HD locals off of a SAT, this is not a high priority for D*.

Yesterday I put up a Antennacraft Y10-7-13 to combine with the DB8 so I can get the Redding channels. ABC and all 3 PBS channels come in fine showing a high signal.

Maybe it's where I'm located (North Chico), but I can receive all of the Redding channels just fine with my DB4. Signal strengths are 80's-90's most of the time. Even when ABC went back to channel 7, my DB4 still pulls it in just fine.

I couldn't get KCVU FOX on one receiver minutes ago. I checked the other receivers and it looks like they are transmitting on low power. Is anyone else having problems receiving this channel?

I just got back and checked. All receivers are back to around 88% signal which is great. Thanks David.

Got the problem fixed. I replaced the 1' coax cable running from the splitter to the antenna, now ABC comes in great. Guess I should remember to try the simple things first when problem solving.

Can't get 7-1 on my D* HR-20 this morning. Checked the Mits tuner and channel 34 comes in at about 60% there. I'm fairly certain the HR-20 is looking for channel 34 so ther must be something in the data stream it doesn't like. Anyone else having a problem with KRCR?

It looks to me like KRCR doesn't broadcast on 7 anymore, only 34, and at low power. Am I wrong?

D* has also screwed us. The channel sync without an antenna no longer works. It was "fixed" with the last update. A sync now finds 34 for 7-1 (good), 36 for 12-1 (bad) and 18 for 9-1 (bad). A couple of weeks ago I did a sync during some bad wheather and lucked out. Got 7-1 from 34, 12-1 from 43, and 9-1 from 9. If I don't do another sync I should be OK, if KRCR ever gets their act together.

please let us know the details of your setup. what type of antenna, age of down lead, any splitters, amplifiers, or recording devices before your tuner?

I'm in NE Redding. I have a newer Terk antenna pointed at Chico and moumted on the peak of the roof. The run is about 50 feet to an amplifier under the house. The signal is then split to three rooms with an H20 in a bedroom , an HR22 with an AM21 in a bedroom, and an HR20 in the living room. The living room signal is the longest run, about 30 feet, and is split again just before the TV to the TV and the HR20.

The problems I have reported here are seen on the living room HR20. Whenever there is a problem with KRCR I also check the strength of KIXE. KIXE has come in at 85% consistantly. Are KRCR and KIXE broadcast from about the same place? If the problems I'm having with KRCR are caused by my system, shouldn't KIXE also have problems?

The last time I checked, the signal strength of KRCR was 45%. Strong enough to sync with an occasional blip.

I get a sporadic signal for KRCR OTA. It just is black screen when the signal is present and error screen when the signal disappears. This is seen on both VHF7 and UHF34. Checking my antenna systems, which have no problems are are receiving KIXE, KCVU, KHSL, and KNVN plus a couple of LP of South Fork with normal signal levels.
KRCR both HD and standard def is off the air on Comcast as well.
KRCR and KIXE are both down. SD is also off from D*. Must be something wrong on the mountain.

KRCR has reported to the news that they are off the air except for Charter Cable (Fiber link). I'm not getting their channel on Dish Network (which is permitted by terrestrial antenna to terrestrial antenna to satellite). Too bad that UHF 34 and VHF07 are so close to each other. Same pole? Maybe it is time to move the UHF34 to South Fork?
I can't believe KRCR is still off the air. They must loosing a ton of money. I'm getting a signal strength of 70%, but no picture.

I'm getting KRCR in HD on Dish Network. I tried OTA . there still are some problems with my equipment not being able to lock. I checked TSReader, both VHF07 and UHF34 have some tables and a strong signal. The information is for KAEF-TV out of Eureka.

I don't know how they are doing it but things seem to be getting better.

It looks like 23-1 is working as the map-down for OTA right now.
I am now getting KRCR VHF07 and UHF34 with 7-1/7-2 map-downs. Signals are good. Video and audio are very good.

Did they put some electric blankets on the antennas?

KHSL has moved their sole early evening newscast from 6:30 to 6:00. As a result, the CBS Evening News now airs in ugly SD in its new timeslot (6:30 pm). It's kind of disheartening to see that we're taking backward strides when it comes to HD technology. Does anyone in this market care, aside from us nerds?

I've often wondered why the locals here don't air their network's evening newscasts at 5:30 pm, as seems to have been the norm in this timezone the past two decades or so.

Had to see it for myself tonight.....pathetic......this is why I don't watch our local news anymore.....
