Atlanta, GA - Charter - Page 11

Good news on the upcoming HD additions. I was honestly thinking it might be more than that since Uverse is about to move into my area, but I suppose any new HD channel is good news. I agree on the need for an HD news network and the Travel Channel.

Umatter,

I'm looking at probably buying a retail Moxi this summer, finally. My moto dvr is constantly full. Before I buy the retail moxi, is charter's new Moxi 3012 offered in Atlanta (specifically, Smyrna)? If not, will it be soon?

At this time the 3012 is only offered in the St. Louis market. Unfortunately I do not have a timeframe for if/when it may be available in other areas.

Anyone have any info on Fall plans for Charter in the Atlanta metro? New HD channel additions etc?
I was told not to expect any new HD this Fall, which is very disappointing. Most cable systems are now at 100+ HD Channels and we're stuck around 50. Also, just saw where Charter added ESPN-U HD in California.
New info says Charter will get Comedy Central HD before the end of the year in Smyrna and then, more HD in the 2nd quarter of 2011.
Charter in Gwinnett added Comedy Central HD as channel 765 a few weeks ago.

I live in the Duluth area and noticed that the clear QAM channel for CBS is gone. I made several attempts to auto-tune from a fresh start but clear QAM for CBS no longer shows up anywhere for me. It was on channel 90.1 for the last couple of years. Does anyone have any info about this?

Thanks.
Here in Smyrna, CBS moved to 71.1. Give that a try.
Thanks for responding. I found it last night on 71.1 as well. There were improvements to the low end analog channels last night too; at least in my neighborhood. Who knows? Perhaps they fixed something in the process.
Charter fix something? That's a good one.

I'm also in Duluth (just outside downtown), and I've lost almost all of my digital SD channels, and a few HD channels. I'm now getting only a couple of channels between 100 and 200; many of these channels have been gone for more than a month, and every time I check there are new ones missing.

Fortunately it can't get much worse, as I only have a couple left. To add insult to injury, I finally got my Ceton card yesterday, but can't use it -- if they can't get their boxes to work, how the hell can they get a 1-way CableCard to work?

I've had two techs come out, and another scheduled for Sunday. They tell me that it's a head-end issue related to Charter's rollout of SDV.
They've got to add ESPNU- HD before football season!

An HD cable news network would be nice as well. CNN???? This is Atlanta after all.
Wow, just noticed we're getting FoxNews HD.
and CNN HD as well! Both available now!!!
Hey anyone with Charter in the Atlanta area also seeing two "The Learning Channel"s? I'd hate to think they're wasting an HD slot by duplicating TLC!
No. Not seeing that.

I think I remember TiVo having some weird entry in their guide with 2 learning channels. I have a Charter Box.
Ok, maybe just something weird with my Media Center channel guide.

New HD Channels in Smyrna (hopefully starting today!):

Good evening,

Sorry to hear about the trouble with the added channels. What zip code are you in and I can check to see if we have plans to release the ones that are currently not available.

Thanks,

Jeremy

Any chance Charter will add the GPB Knowledge channel (WGTV HD-3) any time soon? They are showing a big high school football game tonight. Also, my Tivo Guide mentioned that Charter was re-adding the WXIA HD-2 weather channel on channel 84 but it has not been available. Would also like to see WXIA's HD-3 channel (Universal Sports).

Good Morning,

We are not showing any of the above on current announcements so we will need to get in touch with local marketing to inquire. We will update as soon as we hear back!

Thanks,

Dylan

Apparently, Charter is having some major problems in our area today. Almost EVERY channel is suffering MAJOR pixellation and audio dropouts. And High Speed Internet has dropped down to less than 1 mbps! Calling the help number sent me to a message that there are problems in "my area" and crews are working to fix them.
I'm told there was a major cable cut. Workers hope to have everything working by late afternoon.

Good evening,

I spoke with you on DSLR, and I am happy to announce that everything should be back up and running now. Are you still having trouble? If so please make sure to give your equipment a good reset.

Thanks,

Jeremy

We're back!
Thanks for the updates, Jeremy!

I am a Charter customer in 30082 (Smyrna, GA), and I would like a channel listing of clear QAM channels (without use of converter box or CableCard). Does anyone know if this available somewhere? Charter's website only lists channels by their cable box numbers.

It seems that every few months, the lineup changes. The last time it changed, I lost the Music Choice channels (they were 95.1 thru 95.99?). In addition to finding them, it would be convenient to have all the channels listed instead of re-creating my own listing each time!

Hey Charter Man. I have Charter service in Whitfield County, Dalton GA. I purchased a Hauppauge 2650 DVR and got a Motorola Cable card. I had to go to the Dalton office twice because the customer service people weren't sure about the card and then when I got it couldn't offer any instruction on activating it. I got everything hooked up and then called the automated number to activate the card which I was told to do. That didn't work so the next time I called the automated number it put me thru to a customer represenative who didn't have a clue what I was talking about. I there another number I should call or another way to activate the card. Please let me know. Thanks

Good evening,

Sorry to hear about the trouble you are having getting the card activated. Can you send me a PM with some account information?

Thanks,

Jeremy
