which exact channels on 114?
sweet....
but i think ill wait a week before rescanning and setting up my Guide on my HTPC. I bet theyre just adding channels, sorting it out for digital cable subscribers. Then will just lock the clearqam later.

i really wish theyd just leave it all clearqam-able.

awesome. thanks guys for updating the spreadsheet.
hopefully that can become a community thing and we can all benefit from it.

Peronsally, I haven't scanned yet. I manually added a few channels to see. But I'm waiting til the weekend when I can redo my HTPC w/ 64bit Win7.

I did some scans on some other TVs in my house a few weeks ago. Does anyone know why some channels aren't where they're supposed to be? ie: If a channel is supposed to be on 88.4 on the list, it might be on like 88.6 on one TV, 88.2 on another. its kind of annoying.

Is there a special way I should do the scan on my TV? I know one has options for Auto, HRC and IRC scans.

Just do your scans on Auto, most T.V. QAM tuners will scan differently then others, depends on brand,I guess. But we should all end up with the same channels, they might not be exactly the same channel number sometimes, but usually they are somewhere near.

Can someone update the spreadsheet with the channels I posted in my earlier post?I don't want to go into the spreadsheet and mess it up some how.
k updated the spreadsheet for ya. its not that bad, its just like working in excel. theres no formulas or anything just simple

Network Name|Analog Channel|Digital Channel|Notes(like date added/etc)|Status(if its gone now, thanks to whoever put that there)

so for CBS it would be
CBS | 4 | 82.3

oh you can always download it, then edit...and if you do something horrible wrong and mess it up, theres at least a backup somewhere. or downlaod it and maintain your own list? Idk....

I know they scan differently, but it blows when a lot of us seem to have the same channels, but for some reason my other 2 HDTV (ClearQAM) come up with slightly different channels. My HTPC (hauppage tuner) comes up the same as on the spreadsheet.

That did not last long

Channels seem to be gone nowI think TWC might be reading our posts.Has anyone done a rescan to see if they moved them around again?
word!
The only reason I have cable is because of the QAM channels, but it seems that TWC might be up to something.I guess it's time to call up my old Satellite company again,if the channels get blocked.
so all thos enew channels are gone already?
heh, glad i didnt spend my time rescanning and resetting up my guide .
i figured twc was just adding channels for their digital subscribers and would just lock them off clearqam after it was setup for htem.

in their defense; im just paying for basic analog cable and road runner. so getting ClearQAM is a free bonus for me. My friend just pays for RoadRunner and is getting clearqam as a free bonus. If TWC can block us from watching their stuff free, why wouldnt they?

In *OUR* defense, they should offer cheaper alternatives for those of us that hate their freaking boxes. I love being able to integrate HDTV on my HTPC, but hell if Im going to pay $300+ for an external CableCard reader, and still be limited. Or 2000+ for a CableLabs Certified OCUR htpc.

For those with OTA reception: is anybody picking up KSFE's digital signal on ch 20? Right now they have Fox (XHRIO) on 67.1 and The CW on 67.2.

I think TWC is still in the testing phase. When I called back in late August, TWC said that the new HD channels would be available in November. Don't get discouraged.

if they are testing they should be added within the next few weeks. When they added 30HD channels last year on 12/17/08 in north texas they tested them for about a week.

On Tuesday, Time Warner Cable added 27 high definition channels to its line up, including the Golf Channel, the Discovery Channel and all the major cable news networks.

But the 46,000 digital cable customers in the Rio Grande Valley will need to use a Scientific Atlantic cable box to see the channels. Customers with a Motorola-brand box can swap it for free by contacting Time Warner, said Laura Hernandez Aplin, communications manager.

Is TWC going to open up the new HD channels for QAM tuners again or are they gone for good?
Zap2It has updated their listings to include the new channels for anyone using a Cable Card with their TiVo HD DVR.

I did a scan too.... the channels are for the most part gone. I was shocked that the expanded basic digital channels were gone. I went ahead and got a box the other day. I think we all share your grief.... more box and wire clutter.
the only saving grace is it looks like Cable Labs and Microsoft really lowered the requirements for CableCard. And hauppage has a cablecard tuner coming out soon.

Will prolly still need an SDV tuner when SDV hits the valley. But ... hopefully, TW trains their staff on cablecards and I can go that route. God I hate having to have boxes and boxes.
