Ok. so I just happened to check, performed a rescan and I picked up XHRIO's digital signal on DT26! Fox HD is now on ch 2-1. Anybody else picking it up?

ok, I just re-scanned and true;CONFIRMED; it is now on 2-1

So what's the subchannel lineup now on XHRIO, KSFE-LD, and KNVO?

As of 6/13/10, everything remains the same:
2-1 Fox
48-1 Univision
48-2 Telefutura
48-3 Fox
48-4 CW
67-1 Fox
67-2 CW

So now 2 questions I have.

A. What is the broadcast range on XHRIO-DT 2-1?

B. With XHRIO finally on it's own channel and KSFE also on it's on channel, will we finally get The CW HD or not because it's still low powered?

CW Plus, the specific CW service carried by KSFE-LD, is not currently available in HD.

Interesting. Does that mean KSFE will be dropping CW+ in favor of being a real CW station or is CW+ going HD too? Certainly has been a busy month for Entravision

I'm not getting it anymore rescan and not even 67-1. no signal since yesterday.

2-1 was off the air on Tues. It was back yesterday. Right now it's off again. Not sure what's going on...

I'm switching over from AT&T and DirecTV to Time Warner next Tuesday, taking advantage of the triple bundle pack, and saving myself some money in the process.

It's been more than 5 years since I last had cable, and back then it was just digital cable (I don't recall HD services or even Roadrunner being available then) and it was still fairly new to the San Benito area.

How is the picture quality in the valley for TWC as compared to satellite? I'm also going to try and drop by one of the local TWC offices to see for myself what it looks like.

I am in the San Benito area and I have the triple from TWC.

I think the picture quality is very good.

I used to have Directv and the TWC picture quality is as good if not better.

I also have an antenna for my locals, and I can't tell any difference between the antenna feed and the same locals on TWC.

However, things such as the quality of your cable connection and the area where you live can play a role in the picture quality.

I have been with the triple play for 3 years, and I have been happy.

However, if you want a DVR, the TWC DVR isn't very good.

And, if you want a Tivo, you have to have a cable card and a tuning adapter to receive the SDV channels which is most of them.

The TA can be a pain to set up.

No problems with phone and internet except when your cable goes out, so does your internet and phone.

Fortunately, that doesn't happen often.

Installation went through without a hitch except for being delayed a bit by the weather. It's early days, but overall I'm very happy with TWC. Roadrunner Standard with powerboost is fast, the digital phone works as advertised, the overall picture quality is good enough. The ondemand offerings are cool and so much better than what DirecTV offered. The musicchoice digital music stations are also leaps and bounds ahead of the crap that was Sonic Tap on DirecTV. Setting up a recording is easier and one is given more choices as to how to do it.

The guide listings are a mess compared to the way that DirecTV listed their channels. I found it so much easier to find channels with their logical channel order.

I received a SA 8240 HDC cable box. I'm not all that happy with it. I'm thinking of replacing it. I need to check with local TWC offices to see if they have anything else. Is there a HD DVR box that you could recommend?

As far as I am aware, your only other choice for an HD DVR with TWC is a Tivo HD.

There is the older Series 3 or the new Premier which is advertised as having a much faster processor and some other bells and whistles.

The only problem with a Tivo is that you have to have a Tuning Adapter installed to be able to view the SDV channels, which is most of them.

The Tuning Adapter can be a real pain to get set up. It took me several truck rolls to get mine working because none of the techs knew how to do it.

Hopefully, the techs are now better trained.

The Tivo surpases the TWC box in every way. But be prepaired for some headaches getting it working properly.

I'm going to go ahead and stick with the box I have for now. I got it set-up to my liking after finding some online guides.

Any word on the HD futures of Telemundo and Azteca America? I'd love to be able to get all the local Spanish stations in HD in order to watch my futbol games in hidef.

The picture quality during the Cowboys preseason game last night on KRGV's HD channel via TWC was excellent. It was just so, so much better than the Hall of Fame game on KVEO Sunday night during which I noticed a good bit of pixelization throughout the game.

It appears that XHRIO is showing the Houston Texans preseason game in HD.

Once again, KRGV did a great job with the Cowboys game on Saturday. I only wish that ABC had the rights to broadcast the NFL games instead of NBC which were terrible again this Sunday.

If you lose a QAM local HD channel, try re-scanning your tuner. If that doesn't work, reset the tuner, delete all existing channels, and set up from scratch.

I just noticed that Telemundo HD is available on channel 864 (KTLMD).

Actually channel 863 is also Telemundo (KTLM), but I don't know what the difference is between the two as they both appear to have the same programming.
