I know that CW is supposed to be on 21. Either today or sometime in the future.

Heck this morning when Judge Joe Brown was supposed to be on Martha Stewart was on. This was on XHRIO. She is supposed to be on CW.

Hopefully things will get straightened out before the new shows come on next week.

Well today, all the major networks started airing their fall 2007 syndicated schedule and programming guides don't always show the right info. Plus i think because they are working on getting XHRIO HD on, that might be why the programming guide is all out of whack

I noticed all of that also. I thought that maybe my Tivo was messed up with the guide data. I tuned to 21 and got Cspan. What the heck?

well my guide still says 21 is Cspan 2 and 53 is WB...yes, my guide actually says WB instead of CW

Well I finally got a tv with a digital tuner. I can pick the following channels with just a regular indoor antenna:
4-1 CBS
4-2 KGBT Weather
5-1 ABC
5-2 LATV
5-3 KRGV Weather
12-1 Azteca 13
23-1 NBC
38-1 PBS
44-1 TBN
44-2 Church Channel
44-3 JCTV
44-4 Enlace
44-5 Smile of a Child
48-1 Univision
48-2 Telefutura
48-3 Fox
48-4 The CW

I guess that means KTLM 40 Telemundo is the only station not broadcasting in digital yet.

2 things, first off, I thought KTLM was broadcasting on digital channel 20

the other thing, XHRIO-HD was added to Time Warner as channel 870 today, about a week later than previously announced, but still, all is great
post #66 of 646
It's not surprising that they added it (XHRIO) before the Cowboys first game on Fox this Sunday. NBC had them last week.

Thats exactly what I was hoping for, other wise they probably would have rushed to get it last week. Or its a very nice coincidence, either way, it's nice.
I just rescanned my channels and picked up FOX HD.......Excellent....yes, in time for the Cowboy game.
Finally, now we can watch the games in HD, not to mention just in time for the new fall season of shows. Silverthree, you're only picking up one Azteca channel? I know there are two. Well, either way, can't wait to watch tomorrow's batch of games.

hello all, new to the forum. live in edcouch, have had dtv for about 12 years now. have the hr-20(hddvr) in my living room, and a h-20 in the bedrm. wondering if anyone else has a hr-20, have an OTA question. I have a 50" 35 element antenna in my attic. it splits to feed the OTA hd to both receivers. in the bedrm i get 4.1,4.2,4.3,5.1,5.2,5.3,9.1,23.1,48.1,48.2,48.3,48.4,60.1 in my living room i get it all EXCEPT for the univision subs. I cannot figure it out. I used to have the old samsung 360 dtvhd receiver and would get all fine. wondering if it is a receiver issue. can anyone shed any light on the issue? thanks.
Is anyone receiving Digital PBS (KMBH) via OTA? My Tivo channel scan picks up the signal, but no sound or picture.

Thanks.
Same thing here. Good signal strength but no picture or sound.

I sent an email to KMBH 3 days ago inquiring as to why there was no data being broadcast on their frequency. I haven't received a response.

Maybe they all went on vacation!
Your probably right. Please post here if you get a response back from them.

I just saw a promo on KVEO for News Center 23...the end of the promo said it was gonna be the available in HD!!!! That sounds too good to be true, I'm gonna email Bill Jorn, KVEO General Manager, to find out if its for real for real or if my tv is just playing games with me.
I saw that promo today too; I know that bigger markets broadcast in HD. Maybe it's a part of their strategy to attract viewers. I sure do get disgusted with the make up caked on the Channel 4 News anchor. The make up is over the top, especially for those of us with digital TVs.

I'm glad I remembered this forum and found this thread within it regarding local OTA HD as I recently purchased a HD television. It's good to know that there are a pretty good amount of HD/digital channels available in this area.

not to mention HD news

Am I the only one that has problems watching ABC while using a laptop? For some reason, it seems to interfere with the signal, but all of the other channels still work as they should (CBS, NBC, FOX, etc.).
Anyone know why XHRIO has different games in HD than SD?

If you notice, a bunch of their games recently have been in SD on their digital channel (KNVO 48-3 or TWC 870). If you watch carefully, you can see its because they often have a different game in HD than they are supposed to have, like today, they are supposed to show Carolina and Tennessee, but they have Atlanta and San Fransisco in HD, so because they arent allowed to show Atl/SF game, they show the Car/Ten game in SD.....

Anyone know why they wouldnt be provided with the same HD feed than SD? I'm tired of getting up on Sunday and wondering whether or not I'll be able to see the NFL on FOX in HD

KGBT doesn't have this problem with the NFL on CBS
post #82 of 646
Question from an ex-valley person here...are the local HD signals up on DirecTV yet? I used to be able to get the RGV stations via Dish, but it did some changing around and they're no longer viewable up here in Austin.

thanks!

Hi guys, I'm from Brownsville I have Dishnetwork and want to get all the local HD channels as possible. I love watching CBS on HD. ABC doesn't have much HD programming that intrest me. This are the only channels I get

004-01 CBS HD
004-02 CBS Weather
004-03 blank
005-01 ABC HD
005-03 ABC Weather

007-01 XHAB my tunner picks it up but can't lock on it
011-01 Azteca HD channel 13
014-01 Azteca HD channel 7
23-01 NBC HD
048-04 CW

I would love to get FOX on HD and every other channel here in the RGV in HD.
What antennas are you using and which way should I point it.

THanks

FOX HD is 048-03, so if you pick up the CW on 048-03 it seems like you should be able to get FOX HD too.

I am actually on cable, so I don't deal with antennas (yet, when I get a new HDTV with a tuner built in, I'll get into the antenna thing), but have you tried antennaweb.org?

Yes, check out www.antennaweb.org

It will tell you everything you need to know about receiving OTA from your location.

I live in San Benito and I use a cheap $30 Terk vhf/uhf non-amplified antenna in my attic. I receive all OTA stations available with no problem.
I live in San Benito, and I recently bought an unamplified directional indoor antenna pointed north, I think, towards Harlingen, and I receive the following channels:

4.1 - KGBT CBS
4.2 - KGBTweather
4.3 -blank

5.1 - KRGV ABC
5.2 - LATV
5.3 - KRGV Weather

23.1 - KVEO NBC

31.1 - Blank but maybe CBS
31.2 - - Ditto the above

44.1 through 44.5 - KLUJ Religious Channels

48.1 - KNVO Univision
48.2 - Telefutura
48.3 - Fox
48.4 - The CW

These all come in pretty solidly, especially NBC 23.1. I'd love to get Azteca for the soccer, but I think I need to move my antenna higher or get a better one.

Try aiming your antenna west/southwest rather than towards Harlingen. The antenna farm is located at approximately 250 degrees from San Benito. You should get a stronger signal aimed in that direction.
I did as was suggested pointed my antenna more west south-westerly and now I get:

4.1 - 4.2 - KGBT stronger signal

5.1 - 5.3 - not as strong as before

7- analog spanish religious station

9.1 - XERV Televisa HD surprisingly strong

17 - XERV Televisa non-HD

23.1 - KVEO apparently strongest signal of all available

40 - Telemundo snowy signal

48.1 - 48.4 now, however, aren't as strong as before

54 - blank

60 - KMBH PBS

64 - blank spanish

Time Warner has added TBS HD to channel 904. Hopefully this will be the first of many HD channels they add to their cable lineup.
Have you had any issues with the TBS HD channel since its availability? I rescanned my channels with the built in digitial tuner I have, but I had no luck. I did an auto, standard, HRC, and IRC scan.

Thanks
