Has anyone else noticed a static like noise on the NBC feed of WTVA? It is happening on both the D* feed and OTA feed. A little annoying.

True. Sad to say the only thing I watch on NBC is football.

See if the sound is better now.

See where NBC is starting their on retro tv subchannel Jan. 1 called cozi tv . It will show programs like six million man, bionic woman, magnum pi just to name a few. I dont believe wtva will have enough bandwith to add it on their channel. You can go to their website at cozitv.com.

But again, it goes back to the whole, not on Satellite, so it doesn't matter if they add 30 channels. If they can't agree (both the local and the satellite company) to carry the subchannels, it doesn't help anyone who can't use OTA.

It is on satellite just not direct or dish, Im watching it on my fta receiver on satellite 103w ku band.

Hello, fellow Ne MS OTA watchers smile.gif

I need your opinion on setting up an OTA antenna feed into three bedrooms, plus my living room. Dish Network will be installed, but I want to add an OTA module to a 722k for Me-TV, This TV, Create, etc.

My question is: has anyone here attempted anything like this before? If so, please let me know what your experiences have been.

Thanx, phmlpn (or Patrick IRL)

What about that birthday music? It makes me insane and murderous. Is Bill Gamel still there? I can't bare to watch.

I wish one of our local channels would add the Nashville Network on a subchannel. I noticed that 33 Birmingham has added it on their subchannel.

Same here.

Looks like WCBI is now broadcasting CBS in 1080i instead of 720p. Green bar still visible on right side of picture.

That sucks. Can't they adjust the tracking?

Looks like a 720p picture scaled to 1080i. Lets hope they do some more adjusting.

On another note, WTVA's dual HD feeds look pretty good over the air. They are not perfect, but both the NBC and ABC feeds look better than WCBI's CBS feed.

I'm trying to remember if any of those networks have any shows I care about anymore. With the kid in the house we avoid commercials even harder than before and I'm so done with reality/game shows.

The only thing I watch on the major networks is sports.

I agree the only thing I watch on networks is sports and local news, if it wasn't for espn I would not have directv.

WCBI - off air again as of 8:30 pm on Mon, Nov 4. I hope they are installing a new HD encoder.

Directv is now giving us WCBS. Much improved picture over WCBI.

I am glad that DirecTV offered a solution, because DISH flat out refused to offer any type of substitution and refused to give a reason why they could not when questioned. The supervisor even went so far as to become completely unresponsive when questioned directly about the reasoning behind their refusal to offer a national substitution until service could be restored.

I love being able to save Live Chat's (along with Employee ID's) and I fully intend to lodge a formal complaint with Dish Corporate.

WCBI must have a new encoder. CBS picture looks better! Green line on right side gone as well.

Speaking of WCBI, thanks to some tropospheric ducting the morning of June 12, 2013, I received WCBI here in Indianapolis at a distance of 454 miles. It was in and out for over 90 minutes.
Since WCBI is having to shuffle basketball games to its subchannels, I would like a see at least one of them converted to an SD widescreen version. Don't know how much bandwidth that would take, but it would be nice considering that most sports broadcasts now have graphics outside the 4:3 safezone.
It would be nice to have the subchannels on satellite. I know I have rambled about this before, but for those of us who cannot receive OTA, the option for the local CW and MYNMS would be nice considering they are local channels.

Just a quick note from Starkvegas. We decided to kill Directv service and save a few bucks. I got a Mohu Ultimate from Wally World and got every channel except WTVA at full signal as reported by the Samsung signal meter on the PN60E550. Previously we could not get PBS and it gets all 3 of the subchannels. Great little antenna so far. I'd love to get WTVA but on two different antennas it's always been a problem.

Also I was unaware WKDH is totally gone?

Been gone for over a year now

WKDH ceased broadcasting at 11:59 p.m. on August 31, 2012 after more than 11 years on the air;[1] this is due to the Spain family's decision not to renew its LMA with Southern Broadcasting. The ABC affiliation for the Columbus-Tupelo-West Point market moved to the second digital subchannel of WTVA;
