I searched this thread and skimmed through it regarding pc requirements for MCE 2005 and ATI HDTV Wonder. They differ.
From MS web site http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/u...pert/hdtv.mspx
Video adapter with 128-MB DDR video memory with 128-bit interface; an AGP8x interface or PCI express; video memory bandwidth of 10 GB per second or greater; support for MPEG-2 iDCT acceleration. You might not find all of this information included in the hardware specification for the video adapter. If that is the case, try calling the manufacturer directly to inquire or contact your PC hardware manufacturer for video adapter recommendations.
2.4-Ghz CPU or greater.
From ATI Web site http://shop.ati.com/product.asp?sku=2546404
Intel® Pentium® 4, Celeron, AMD Athlon® or compatible, operating at 1.3GHz or greater
256MB of system memory
Available PCI slot for HDTV WONDER card
Graphics card with 64MB or greater of frame buffer and Microsoft DirectX 9.0 support
Installation software requires CD-ROM drive
Interactive Program guide requires Internet connection for listing updates
Remote Control receiver requires available USB port
Sound card with speakers
Don't want to have to buy a 2.4 ghz box if this would work with a 1.5 P4.
I also searched the ATI HDTV thread and found nothing about requirements for using both. You would think they would coordinate on providing clear minimum requirements for their combined usage.
So why does MCE 2005 ask for more CPU and graphics ram than the ATI HDTV wonder does?
CPU Video Ram
MCE 2.4 128MB DDR
ATI HDTV Wonder 1.3 64MB
Would MCE 2005 work with an ATI HDTV wonder and a video card of of the ATI Radeon 9600 or better flavor with a P4 1.5GHZ?
What is the min CPU anyone is using successfully with this card?
