Had my 6412 installed at about 8:30am this morning. I did not have the program guide for over 2 1/2 hours, getting it about 20 minutes ago.
I only have guide info. up to 3:30 pm as of 11:10am.
I had been doing manual recordings of the INHD channels (with no guide that's all you can do).
It runs real quiet, the interface is fast. Analog looks well like it usually does. I don't think it is too clunky, though I wish there was a one-button DVR function. Probably because I have a remote for a 6200 ???
Comcast does not yet have remotes for 6412's.
I have to hit the Menu button and scroll down and select DVR for DVR functions. It is EASY to set up a series recording OR search for keywords. A search for Las Vegas brought up more than several programs with "Las Vegas " in the program description, and I only had guide data for about 4 1/2 hours.
Tuner conflict resolution worked, as I had a manual recording at 11 and then upon getting the guide, set up a series recording for "The Young and the Restless", which was recording twice. Was wondering why I couldn't change channels until I went to DVR and checked it out and stopped the series recording for today which started at 11:10 and kept the manual one which started at 11:01.
I'm very impressed so far, but only have a little experience with Direc Tivo Series 2 at my brother's.
P.S. I now have Program Guide info until 3:30am. The Guide is fast, love it, it displays 1.5 hours of info once you scroll right.
