Subwoofer cable length

How long can a subwoofer cable be before the signal degrades? Can a 50 foot cable be used?

Sure. "Degradation" takes the form of attenuation. To counteract, just turn up the gain a bit. At 100 ft I'd start to be careful.

If you go that long you might want to look into DIY cable from RG-6 coax.

FWIW, I've got a homebrew 40+ foot cable made from Radio Shack microphone cable (!) which works just fine. I would imagine 50 feet of decent cable would be fine. You might look at http://www.partsexpress.com for either pre-made or raw cable.

I'm running a 50ft cable from Cobalt Cable. Absolutely no problem whatsoever.
