Killzone on PS2...very cool

The framerate kinda chugs, and the color pallette is pretty weak, but overall I'm finding this game to be at least as much to play through as Halo was.

However, as someone who likes very precise controls, I had to turn the X/Y sensitivity to ALMOST zero in order to get the range I was after, and now I notice that the Vertical is much more sensitive than the Horizontal...ie: even at almost NIL, the horizontal settings are hard to dial in, making long-distance aiming a chore......I hope this game sees a PC release with mouse support.

I dont think any console FPS will control like Halo.

lol was that really necessary?

Anyway it has a lot to do with the PS2 controller. Sony really needs to update those loose, dinky sticks. Even the ones on the N64 are much more tight and precise.

i thought the game was utter crap actually. horrible framerates, generic storyline, ridiculous controls (why exactly can you jump in the game? i never needed it once) and just a boring game.

The game plays slowly, so the framerates didn't bother me too much....I liked the weapons, the controls were fine...like I said just a little too sensitive even at low sensitivity.

Yeah not being able to jump is odd......I did kind of miss that freedom, on the other hand I did enjoy the environments....

I watched a friend play this, and was amazed that the PS2 could output that kind of image. Looked good. The framerate got pretty bad, but so does Halo 2. My problem with my brief time with it was the controls, as others have mention. Not to drudge up old arguments, but I just don't like the PS2 controller for shooters (beats the GC by a mile, though).

Killzone is a very cool game. It's unfortunate the game isn't on a system where it can reall shine. Maybe a Killzone 2 on the next Playstation would do it justice.
