PIP window can be moved!

I'm not sure if this has been posted already ... if so, I apologize in advance for the duplicate information. But for those who don't know, the PIP window can be moved. I know this for a FACT because I have done it myself.

Now for the catch ....

I don't think this can be done with the remote that comes with the RCA UTV. If it can, I haven't figured out how to do it yet. Anyway, here is how I did it ...

Like many of you, I have a home theater and hate shuffling remotes, so the first thing I did was program my AV Producer 8 remote to control my UTV. The UTV responds to RCA satellite remote codes (I use 0566, others recommend 0392) AS WELL AS WebTV remote codes. I utilized the Sony WebTV remote code (0850 I think?) to get my Up, Down, Left, Right and the Enter/Select buttons working. It is this last button that I discovered ... quite by accident ... controls the movement of the PIP window!

Now the Enter/Select button when programmed with the WebTV code will select nearly all items. Unfortunately, for some strange and unknown reason it will NOT bring up the keyboard when trying to search by title or enter an HTTP address. (I ended up having to learn the OK button on the standard remote for these certain situations.) BUT .... when you click the Enter/Select button while the PIP window is open, the window will MOVE FROM ONE SIDE OF THE SCREEN TO THE OTHER!

At this point, I can only get it to move either to the bottom left or the bottom right. I haven't figured out a way to move it up. But hey, it's a start. I don't know why this functionality was not included with the standard remote. I suspect it might be functionality that is already in place, but they want to give it to us later to make it seem that our $9.95/month is bringing us great "upgrades", but who knows? I still can't believe I agreed to pay a monthly fee for software "service" ... but oh well, I digress.

Have fun with the new "hack"! I'd like to know if others make this happen on their systems too.

The Dishplayer (Dish Network receiver that UltimateTV is based on) only moves the PIP from lower left to lower right. It could only be done via a keyboard command, there was no equivalent remote button. I don't know if it's on a "regular" WebTV remote. One For All is well known for their excellent remotes. It wouldn't surprise me at all if someone added this command in as a standard code.
