I was lucky... when I was the chief engineer at a cable system back in the late-70's / early-80s, our "tower" was the very flat rooftop of a 36-story high-rise condominium on the edge of the Palisades overlooking the Hudson River and NYC (great view!)... just had to press "PH" on the elevator and climb one flight of stairs.
Our other "tower" was the rooftop of 2 Penn Plaza adjacent to Madison Square Garden in the city... microwave feeds for MSG Network, Islander/Net feeds from Cablevision LI and HBO in the pre-satellite era.
Later on when I was working at the corporate office, a contractor fell from about 300' up on our Newport, NC tower. That sort of thing really sticks with you.
I have the greatest appreciation and respect for those who climb. Be safe up there!
