I'm beginning to wonder if this Soul of the South is ever going to appear on 55.2. Wish they would come up with something else.

Yeah. I don't see where we need another "bounce". I'm starting to wonder if this is an announcement where the numbers don't work, but where they also won't admit they are done. In any case the owners of WMYT are still sticking with them as they are still transmitting their logo and Schedules Direct has a updating listing for them. (it only shows SIGN OFF (Special)

So far it appears as if Cozi will appear on NBC O&O stations. But no word if it will be carried in any Carolinas markets.

So long Dan Mathews, Mike Nelson, and Bat Masterson. Sad to see you go. ThisTV dropped Highway Patrol, Sea Hunt, and Bat Masterson as of today. Looks like there's no more action/adventure series on ThisTV.

Bummer!

OK, whining's over. Got it off my chest.

Anyone having trouble picking up WHKY? Seems like their power has gone down, alot, and I can barely lock onto it now.

Damn, what's the point of going on? Are we doomed to TV full of people wanting to be on TV?

Because you have inadvertently selected SAP/DVS (Spanish) audio on your receiver..smile.gif
Or..by being in the couch cushions..the baby..the dog or cat stepping on it..or as with a friend of mine...their parrot pokes the buttons with its beak..smile.gif

Look for the SAP, MTS, or audio button on the remote. Or better yet..read the manual for a better explanation! wink.gif

18.4 and 18.6 keep disappearing from my TV, as well as the box I have hooked up to my old VCR.

Is there a problem with the translator?

Ok...It should be more better now.. biggrin.gif

Good. Now send them to Crowders Mtn. But I guess by now those plans may have changed. And I know you have other priorities in your target area.

Seems to be working now.

Funny thing is that I can receive the Charlotte FOX signal better than the translator signal, more times than not. I suppose it could be a weather thing.

I got WMYT for a month pretty good. It is now missing in action again. smile.gif

Interestingly, I've been unable to receive WHKY reliably from their Hickory tower for the last month. It's as if their power was severely reduced. It's totally unwatchable for me now from either of their transmitters. That station seems to have had issues since the first of October. Maybe this was the reason you were able to pickup WMYT. i.e. less interference.

For those wondering about the Soul of the South network, they just posted a video on YouTube that says it will launch in the first quarter of next year:

Other forums state that broadcast TVGOS will be discontinued by ROVI by the end of April (some cities apparently have already lost TVGOS this month).

I hope that WTVI keeps transmitting TVGOS until the very last minute that ROVI allows. Scheduling OTA recordings with my DVR is going to be a pain when only a few hours of PSIP program listings are available, rather than the 7 days of program listings TVGOS provides.

Also, my DVR's clock has always been accurate with time updates from TVGOS. My TV gets time updates from local stations and it's clock is rarely accurate (a couple days ago it was 6 minutes slow). That will add to the difficulties of scheduling recordings once my DVR loses TVGOS's time updates.

^If your DVR allows you to choose a source, then a Schedules Direct subscription only costs $25/year. It gives 14 day listings that you can pull at any time. As for time, I use ntpd and just point it to us.pool.ntp.org.

My CM-7000PAL DVR will only accept OTA program guides and time updates from two sources, TVGOS and PSIP. Local OTA program guides with full program descriptions for the coming 2 weeks can be viewed (free) on TitanTV on a PC, but can't be accessed via my DVR. Once TVGOS disappears point-and-click scheduling of recordings will be limited to the few hours displayed in the PSIP guide. Beyond that, say to schedule a recording a day or two in advance will have to be done manually, much like an old VCR.

Hopefully, Charlotte's local stations will extend their PSIP program guide to 24 hours or more, maybe someday to a full week. That would certainly be of benefit to all viewers, whether for TV alone, or with a OTA DVR. Anyone know if this is in the works at any local station?
