I recently upgraded my UTV hard drive to a bigger hard drive and version 3.7 software. I now have a perfectly good original UTV 40Gig hard drive. It is sitting in the anti-static bag that the new drive came in. Anyone care to offer a suggestion. PM an offer if anyone would like to purch.

Hi,

Usually if you want to reuse the drive you can "unlock" and reformat the drive for use in a PC or other IDE Device...

Simply reconnect the old drive back into the UTV (IDE Cable plugged into the UTV) and powered (either by the UTV or an outside Power Supply helpful if you want to use the UTV quickly again.)

Leave the IDE Cable Connected for 5 minutes I think. Then disconnect. (Leave the power connected) Let it powered up and continue to "format". It should complete in about 1 hour.

You should then have an unlocked and useable 40GB hard drive.

After reconnecting the NEW/Upgraded/Current UTV drive, when powered up, it will still contain it's existing software/settings/recordings.

Check the UTV FAQ for better details on the process.

Welcome to the UTV Forum.
