DPL2X and Hi-Rez Stereo mixes

Please forgive my ignorance. I don't currently have a processor with DPL2X, but I've heard you can create a 7.1 soundfield from DVD-A and SACD 5.1 surround mixes by "layering" 2X over the analog ins via post-processing. Can a 7.1 soundfield be created from the stereo versions as well?

Yes, PLIIx works with 2-channel sources also. It will extract a stable centre channel and four independent surround channels. The PLIIx Music mode has adjustable parameters to tailor the surround processing to your particular tastes. Since you already have a processor with PLIIx, why haven't you simply tried it with 2-channel material?

Best,
Sanjay

Thanks Sanjay. Actually, I said I don't currently have a processer with DPL2X.

For those who have applied DPL2X to Hi-Rez sources (Multi and Stereo), what are your impressions?
